This photograph fails WP:NFCC#1 (no free equivalent) and WP:NFCC#8 (contextual significance), as the current role of the image is redundant compared to the accompanying text and does not significantly increase readers' understanding. However, as the uploader claims to be a friend of the photographer, I would suggest that the uploader contact the photographer and ask him about releasing this photo under a free license via c:COM:VRT.
