Is there anything preventing me from just moving these to Commons or do I have to wait for this to close? I've been working on the italian photos category and despite the normally abysmal sourcing and file info, there's usually a good amount that can be moved without any fanfare. FWIW, I know that Giano always wants to keep a local copy, after several misadventures with how his files were handled on Commons. I'm not sure how persuasive my comment about someone else's desires will be, but it's the best I can do to help if they don't respond to a ping in 5 days.
