It does not appear to be a crop, but a separate photo taken at a similar time. Compare:

The woman on the left: in the nominated image (call it image 1), she's looking at the camera and half-grinning. In the other image, she's looking off to her right.
The woman in the centre: in image 1, she is looking at the camera and grinning, leaning a little to her left. In image 2, she has the same expression, but she's more upright.
The woman on the right: very obvious difference here in pretty much everything.
Lastly, the quality of the nominated image is higher, so it was clearly taken zoomed in or closer, rather than just being a crop.
