I'm pretty certain that the logo of Optomen is ineligible for US copyright. Threshold of originality is very high in the US; should be tagged as "PD-ineligible-USonly". However, UK copyright relies on "sweat of the brow" doctrine, so standards for protection are very low and would make this logo copyrightable.
