- File:Blackrock Ferney House.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Newcastle1977 (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Copyright violation which is a re-upload of previously deleted material and which has (in this latest incarnation) been the subject of a licence laundering attempt.
The original source of this image is this website/webpage where it is marked as being "Photo courtesy of Michael Foley" and subject to the copyright/legal terms of the website which confirms that "Content on this website is © copyright the Representative Church Body unless otherwise stated". There is ZERO indication that the author or copyright owner (Mr. Foley) has released the image to a Commons Compatible licence. And every evidence that they haven't.
In terms of the "licence laundering" and continued and blatant copyright violation patters here, I would note the following of nonsense:
- 16:16, 8 December 2019 - User uploads copyvio image to Commons
- 19:06, 8 December 2019 - User is advised of copyvio on Commons
- 19:22, 8 December 2019 - Image is deleted as copyvio from Commons (by Commons admin Túrelio)
- 19:35, 8 December 2019 - User uploads the same copyvio image to EN Wikipedia
- 19:46, 8 December 2019 - User is advised of copyvio on EN Wikipedia
- 20:33, 8 December 2019 - Image is deleted as copyvio from EN Wikipedia (by EN WP admin RHaworth)
- 20:42, 8 December 2019 - User REUPLOADS the same image, yet again, back to Commons
- 21:13, 8 December 2019 - Image is deleted as copyvio from Commons (by Commons Admin Túrelio)
- 21:13, 8 December 2019 - User is blocked for repeated copyvio breaches (by Commons Admin Túrelio)
- 01:44, 9 December 2019 - An UNDOUBTEDLY connected person creates a Word Press Blog to host the image
- 01:48, 9 December 2019 - An UNDOUBTED meat/sock puppet REUPLOADS the same file again, claiming "Creative Commons Attribution 2.0" and "permission from blog editor"
File should be deleted. And perhaps salted. I will likely move for SPI and actions on the involved editors/socks/etc separately. Guliolopez (talk) 13:44, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- Update. The following two uploads by the same user have the same problem. Namely:
- File:Quill Election Address 1938.jpeg is the same image that was deleted from Commons for similar reasons to the above. Reuploaded post "laundering"
- File:Coop tea Cork.jpg is the same image that is tagged for deletion on Commons. Laundered and reuploaded here here (following a warning to the user which seems to have been taken as a trigger to "launder" it).
- Frankly, everything from this user (and socks) should be considered suspect. Guliolopez (talk) 13:58, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete: OTRS verification is required from the copyright holder which likely cannot even be proven. ww2censor (talk) 11:41, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
