The result of the discussion was: keep. The seal is over 100 years old per the college itself. (non-admin closure) Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ Talk 19:25, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- File:Brown seal.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RaphaelQS (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
No proof that this seal is over 100 years old. Uploader recently converted to PD after it was removed from the article per WP:NFCC#8. Corky 19:07, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- RaphaelQS, you should put more effort into actually sourcing the files you upload. That way they wouldn't end up getting referred to FFD. Salavat (talk) 23:56, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Salavat: It's a common occurrence for them. I don't know how many times I've tried telling them over the last couple of years, yet their response is "I always forget about putting the source"... how does one "forget" to add a source? It's common sense. Corky 00:45, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was: keep. File is properly source; Source states that the seal is atleast 100 years old. (non-admin closure) Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ Talk 21:27, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

- "the seal officially adopted by the Corporation in 1843", end of story :) --RaphaelQS (talk) 19:13, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Let's use the full quote about the shield: It became the basis of the seal officially adopted by the Corporation in 1843 and still informs the version used today. The shield in the seal may be from 1843, but the seal itself is not. Corky 19:19, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- I'm tired of you. Here's a scan from 1912 with the seal. End of story, good day. --RaphaelQS (talk) 19:28, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

- Corky, Raphael's right about this. You're not reading that text correctly. Just to be sure, give me a day or two to double-check that this is indeed the precise seal adopted in 1843, but unless I'm losing my mind this is the one. If I forget, ping me. Separately, though, I completely forget (low blood sugar) whether this comes under some rule for trademarks, which outlive copyright. EEng 20:22, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- "Just to be sure, give me a day or two to double-check that this is indeed the precise seal adopted in 1843" It's not I was wrong, the current seal was adopted in 1884 by the Board of Overseers. This is the seal adopted in 1843[1]. Anyways, the current seal is still older than 100 years. --RaphaelQS (talk) 20:59, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- Then maybe they should, I don't know, provide a source for this on the file's page EEng? It's a common occurrence for them, and they seem to "always forget about putting the source"... It's common sense. I would not have brought it here had they provided sources showing they're not copyrightable for all three files on this page. Plain and simple. Corky 00:50, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, but you don't need to be so strident. Here's everything you need to know: [1]. If you need more I can get the sources at Heraldry_of_Harvard_University. EEng 01:18, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sometimes it's needed for repeat offenders to get the point across. Thank you for the link. That will do. Corky 01:32, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Don't forget that you are a repeat offenders yourself, you were asked multiple times to stop altering colors the seals/coat of arms of universities (even by the University of Southern California itself that contacted the foundation to complain[2]) so please get off your high horse. --RaphaelQS (talk) 08:27, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- A horse of a different color, presumably? EEng 08:35, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- All right, let's stop beating it then.--RaphaelQS (talk) 18:19, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
