The result of the discussion was: keep. Cosplay photos are not appropriate illustrations for anything other than articles about fandom, costumes, etc. B (talk) 12:01, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

File:Batman DC Comics.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by DrRC (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Why bother having a non free file when a non free file works totally fine fair use is only last resort, this image should be speedily deleted because a free alternative exists. I love rpgs (talk) 19:04, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The file you're recommending is not Batman from the comic books; it's a photo of someone dressed up as Batman in their interpretation of one motion picture version of the character within the scope of cosplay. Cosplay is not suitable for comic book character infobox images. This has already been discussed if you care to read the archived WikiProjects Comics discussions. DrRC (talk) 23:39, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely not. As DRC said that is not Batman, it’s someone’s interpretation of Batman.—-TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:20, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'm not a lawyer, but I think presenting an unlicensed likeness of a copyrighted character as the primary representation of that character might be a bigger issue than a fair use image. Argento Surfer (talk) 14:31, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Besides, is it an accurate cosplay of the way Batman actually look, or just the closest thing that fan could got? We know the answer because we already knew Batman before reading the article, but what if we didn't? Cambalachero (talk) 11:54, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
