Keep: While it's true that this is a former logo, the way it is being tied into the article content should be more relevant here. It is part of a section discussing the evolution of the team's badges and is specifically referred to in the following sentence supported by a citation to a BBC article which does discuss the change:
A major change was made in 2012, when owner Vincent Tan attempted to rebrand the club in order to expand the club's appeal outside Wales.[1] This change gave large prominence to the Welsh Dragon, reducing the bluebird to a minor feature.
I have seen way more egregious "decorative" uses of former logos than this and have suggested their removal/deletion in many such cases, but I think this type of usage does provide the context required by NFCC#8 and its non-free use seems justified to me. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:03, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
