File:Screenshot of IBM AIX SMIT Change or Show Characteristics of a User Screen.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Gareth.randall (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This image is of copyrighted software to illustrate the article System Management Interface Tool. However, another image of this software has already been uploaded. See File:Screenshot_of_IBM_AIX_SMIT_Initial_Menu.png . . . as this is copyrighted software, it seems that only one image of its kind should be necessary, unless this image conveys something of value that the other does not. Photograph of a copyrighted toy. See Commons:COM:TOY. Josh Milburn (talk) 14:44, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • The link is wrong, I think you mean Commons:COM:TOYS which might be we no one has responded? I'm no expert, but from what I understand we have to consider the copyright of the photographer and the copyright of the toy and/or character. Anyway, I vote to keep because the photo is the work of the uploader with a CC licence and if you look at the Jetstorm page where the picture is displayed, you can see other versions of the Jetstorm character uploaded with a copyright tag and a fair use rationale. We just need to add that tag to this picture and make sure it is only on Wikipedia not Commons. Visual representations of the toys convey the differences between the characters, e.g. this one is a plane but an earlier one was a 4WD. Mkultraviolence (talk) 01:34, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Derivative work of copyright-protected software. I do not believe that this would fall under an de-minimis exception. "
Where's the "copyright-protected software" in this image? Most of these icons are trivially generic. Safari is freely licensed by Apple and full versions of its icon are already on Commons. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:05, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the "software" in this image? Those icons are so edge-on that they're beyond de minimis and into unintelligible. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:02, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:AMAA Statuette.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Jamie Tubers (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Source of image is not clear. Going by the source provided Jamie Tubers, who uploaded this file claims that it is his Own Work, but the source also says that file is Owned by Africa Film Academy. In this discussion here . Tubers turns around and says that Africa Film Academy owns the copyright and not him. Stanleytux (talk) 23:34, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
