- File:Velayati 1980.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Tabarez (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Tagged for being in public domain according to Iran's copyrights law because its creator is died more than 30 years a ago, but the creator of the photo isn't mentioned in the source. Farhikht (talk) 08:58, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Images fall into public domain after 30 from the date of publication or public presentation. The picture are for 1981 (32 years ago). Tabarez (talk) 09:05, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete We only know the date of creation, not the date of first publication. Unless it was published (as opposed to just created) before 1983, then we can't keep it. --Stefan2 (talk) 09:56, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Now what the year there are? 2013? and 30 years ago means 1983 which image is taken in 1981. Velayati must be approved by parliament as minister of finance due to Iranian law, as so his first term was began in 1981 which mean 32 years ago. Tabarez (talk) 12:06, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The problem is that you need to show that it was published before 1983. If it was just taken in 1981 and then remained unpublished in a drawer until recently, then 30 years have not passed since publication. --Stefan2 (talk) 12:53, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- This image is published on that years in the newspapers as Iranian can't access to the internet on that years. Tabarez (talk) 13:03, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- How can you verify that it was published somewhere? Not all photos have been published. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:13, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Ghalibaf youth.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Tabarez (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Tagged for being in public domain according to Iran's copyrights law because its creator is died more than 30 years a ago, but the creator of the photo isn't mentioned in the source. Noted that the source is a personal blog. Farhikht (talk) 10:50, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Same with many others, Ghalibaf is a 1961 births and image taken when he was 17 (1977) two years before Iranian revolution as so many pictures are uploaded from 1979 revolution. Tabarez (talk) 12:08, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Actually, the template says that the image was published before 1983, not that the photographer died before 1983. However, we have no information about when or where it was first published, so we don't know whether the claim about pre-1983 publication is accurate. For example, it might have remained unpublished in a drawer for some time. --Stefan2 (talk) 12:55, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't really seem to be necessary for understanding the article. See WP:NFCC#8. Stefan2 (talk) 14:40, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It Is relevant to the article, any Multilateral summit is recognised by the group photograph of Head of States that attend the same. Deleting the same isn't recommended. Check: G8 as a reference Shivam Sharma 14:44, 25 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivam.s88 (talk • contribs)
- The article G8 uses a public domain photo, File:34th G8 summit member 20080707.jpg, so that image isn't limited by WP:NFCC#8. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:50, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, obvious NFCC#8 feature. Photograph of an entirely stereotypical staged group shoot, shows nothing about the meeting that couldn't be equally well transported through individual free portraits of the participants. We never use non-free images of such occasions. Fut.Perf. ☼ 14:12, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Delete - as failing NFCC#8. I've looked in the US copyright renewal notices and while this advert is not listed online, Teletype were in the habit of renewing copyright which may mean this is in copyright for another couple of decades - Peripitus (Talk) 06:45, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- File:Teletype Corporation Model 28 RT Set.pdf (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Wa3frp (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Violates WP:NFCC#8: not needed for understanding the article, and not critically discussed. Also blatantly violates WP:NFCC#3b. Stefan2 (talk) 20:22, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I formally dispute each and every assertion made. This is a rare unit that was manufactured by Teletype Corporation. As a result, few were seen by individuals interested in this manufacturer's work. Since you bring up WP:NFCC #8, show me where the information shown in the pictorial is represented or can be represented in the article. This pictorial absolutely complements the article and brings clarity to the subject. Further, the issue of the size of this image was already hashed out and resolved earlier. Any further reduction in size will make the text unreadable.Wa3frp (talk) 20:50, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Size: The article only uses 62,700 pixels, so the remaining 2,017,338 pixels can be removed as redundant.
- Pictures: Those violate WP:NFCC#1 as they could be replaced by one or more freely licensed photos of the product. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:04, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Please share the locations where I can access the freely licensed photos of the Teletype Model 28 RT. I have not been able to locate them. One site that does have a photo or two (www.virhistory.com) has clipped these from copyrighted Teletype Corporation manuals. I am still looking and will continue to look for a source, or sources, for the freely licensed photos that you seem to have knowledge. It is important for clarity to the article that the photos that you referenced above WP:NFCC#1 have a close-up of the three types of tape punch as well as the details about the pivot-headed multi-contact tape reader. These particular photos also seem to be very difficult to locate. Thanks for your assistance. Wa3frp (talk) 23:42, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- About size: then just crop the image and keep it.
- Pictures: for that, first you'll have to show that units of that model exist at freely accessible locations. Diego (talk) 05:12, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- It's obviously not valid fair use, but how about a copyright renewal search? The copyright date on the brochure is 1959 so it's early enough that if not renewed, it's PD ... and who renews brochures? --B (talk) 11:35, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Teletype Corporation is no longer in existence and all copyrights and all trademark registrations for "Teletype" and "Teletype Corporation" are expired.Wa3frp (talk) 02:30, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
