Nonfree image used in Sparty not used for identification; there is, in fact, already a free image on the article. Not necessary for reader's understanding that the mascot has been featured in video games. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:09, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Insufficient rationale ("Historical Value" without any explanation). This particular performance does not require a non-free image to explain that it occurred. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:34, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why we need a non-free book cover illustrating an article about a programming language. Doesn't serve to identify the language or do anything except basic illustration. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:46, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fails WP:NFCC #8; image is not the subject of commentary in the article Robert Johnson (guitars). (ESkog)(Talk) 02:48, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The images are in context, the only problem is WP:NFCC#3a - there's no need to have two essentially equal images. Delete the ad and keep the certificate, or vice-versa (the ad provides a better view of the guitar). Diego (talk) 05:54, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per WP:NFCC #1. If 100 or so of these guitars were made, then some must still exist in collections or museums. A free equivalent could be created. INeverCry 23:24, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Do you have any knowledge that such is the case? It's equally likely that all guitars are in private hands or were destroyed. Without such knowledge, there's no evidence that a free alternative can be created - speculation that it might be possible is not enough to delete the image under WP:NFCC#1. Diego (talk) 06:46, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The question in NFCC #1 is can it be replaced, rather than has it been replaced. If there were a free alternative available, there'd be no need to ask that question, so I take it that an available free alternative isn't required, but only the likelihood that one could be found or created. If examples exist in private collections, the owner/s could photograph them. If somewhere around 100 of these guitars were created, I don't think it's unlikely that at least a few have survived in private collections or museums. Also, these 2 images show alot more than the guitar. INeverCry 16:21, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- It doesn't work this way. You need to *know* that it can be replaced for NFCC #1 to be applicable - the criterion talks about the image being available or possible to create; for all we know, that likelihood could be 0. Once it's shown that it is possible to take a free photo, sure, then it doesn't matter how difficult it is for an editor to do it; but a reasonable procedure must be defined first, and "it might exist" is not a procedure. Now if you knew of someone who owns such guitar, then sure, we could ask them to create a free photo - but some sign that this is possible at all is required before we take the step to remove the NFC image because of NFCC#1. - There is an entire section about the Valley Arts Limited Edition Commemorative Guitar, so the image is contextually significant. Diego (talk) 05:52, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
