Fails WP:NFCC#8. Alternate cover used in the article without any critical commentary noting its significance in understanding for the reader. Purely used for decorative purposes —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 08:09, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep: Alternative cover images that are significantly different from the original and are widely distributed pass WP:NFCC#3. Aspects (talk) 19:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- You are completely missing the point. It might pass WP:NFCC#3a, but it fails NFCC#8, both are not mutually inclusive. It fails because it is simply replaceable by words being a mere portrait of "the songs name on blue water and flowers floating by", and hence does not aid in reader's understanding of the article. —Indian:BIO · [ ChitChat ] 08:57, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete: Unnecessary, everyone who access the article will know that the first one is the official, and it is not cited on it. 11Jorn Talk 16:55, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete: Doesn't contribute in any way to the article, is not mentioned in the article, nothing.--LuxiromChick (talk) 01:03, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete: Per nom. The second cover doesn't improve readers' understanding of the topic. Bluesatellite (talk) 15:17, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- So my poor grandfather is to be deleted. Can anyone tell me how to go about when the copyright holder, i.e. the photographer, can probably never be traced as this picture dates back to the 1930s, in India. I should think that I, being the legal owner of his picture, should also dare to claim the copyright on it. Wrong? Thanjavoor (talk) 09:25, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Not according to copyright laws. Unless you have a release from the photographer stating no claims on the photograph, the photographer retains some rights to it. This expires 70-100 years after the death of the photographer. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 23:21, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Similar to the film poster of Sideways, and image itself is not of commentary. Omitting or using this image doesn't make any difference when I merged soundtrack into film page. As for the uploader, he is inactive since 2011. George Ho (talk) 08:36, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be a publicity photo displayed on a US government website rather than an image created by the govt. agency itself. According to the publisher's website, the copyright is held by the photographer [1]. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 22:04, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
