Doesn't meet NFCC 8, as I understand it. The article this is used in (LGBT themes in speculative fiction) only has two sentences about controversy caused by J.K. Rowling's announcement that Dumbledore was gay, this image isn't mentioned in the text, and I don't think seeing a parody magazine cover can really increase readers' understanding of controversy in the real world. I really beg to differ with that. It helps to show the state she was in that led to her using a prerecorded performance. One can say "Ashlee was crying beforehand", but -- how? Like a brat? The nuances of a person's emotion don't come across in text. I'd say it's clear from the picture that she was genuinely upset. Text wouldn't convey that. Here is a case where a picture is worth a thousand words.

Incidentally, the file is misnamed: it's from after a rehearsal, during which she was having voice difficulties that prompted her to use the recording, not from after her "lipsync". If it were a picture from after her lipsync, then it'd just be a "look, ha-ha, she's crying", and wouldn't belong in the article; instead, this shows a critical bit of backstory that was not widely reported at the time, and it shows it better than text can. So:

Apologies if this is the wrong place to propose deletion of this file; I've not done this before but I think this file is a copyright violation. The uploader claims that the photograph is self-made and thus releases the photo into the public domain. I doubt the credibility of this claim. The photo, with its blue background, looks remarkably similar to official Malaysian Parliament photographs (see here for Rafidah's current official shot).
