- File:Casona Césari .gif (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Marine 69-71 (notify | contribs).
- This picture was not taken before 1923 as stated, and I see no reason to believe it could be PD. Also, I can't see we using it under as non-free content. Damiens.rf 01:05, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Apparently the uploader believed the governmental website was ipso facto PD, analogous to PD-USGov, but the site states: "Este Portal contiene información que es protegida por derechos de propiedad intelectual y derechos morales de autor. - File:Hawkesbury Hoisting Fred Page Cup 2005.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by DMighton (notify | contribs).
- Image is being used in the Fred Page Cup article. It's not evident to me that this image adds much to the reader's understanding as required by WP:NFCC#8 and since the competition is annual the image could be replaced by another showing some team winning the cup or taking part in it so it doesn't necessarily meet WP:NFCC#1 either. - File:Helen Zille as mayor.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Mulaudzi8 (notify | contribs).
- Non-free image showing Helen Zille in mayoral garb. The rationale claims that this image is "relevant to section on Zille's mayorship". For me this is illustrative only and not significantly assisting the reader's understanding of the subject. Accordingly I believe that this non-free image does not meet WP:NFCC#8. - File:Helen Zille and Desmond Tutu.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Mulaudzi8 (notify | contribs).
- Non-free content rationale claims that the image is used for "purposes of illustration", but illustration is not a valid reason for using non-free content in an article on a public living person such as Helen Zille. The image is not merely replaceable in theory for this purpose, it has already been replaced and is redundant as we have File:Helen Zille - two.jpg. - Unnecessary non-free artwork. It's also interesting to not that the fair use rationale also says it's from the "1920s" what could make this PD. But the exact author and date of publication could not be determined by the source. Damiens.rf 15:56, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Helioculture image.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Grundle2600 (notify | contribs).
- The non-free content rationale for the use of this image in Joule Biotechnologies claims that the image is not replaceable, but it seems likely that a free content diagram or description in text could replace this image so that it may not meet WP:NFCC#8. Angus McLellan (Talk) 16:13, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Perhaps it is replaceable. But it's a promotional image that its creator made because they wanted people to see it, so I don't think there's any copyright concern. Grundle2600 (talk) 16:49, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Grundle2600 is probably right in that we won't get sued for using it, but we won't get a free image either. And thats our goal. A free encyclopedia, including the illustrations. Rettetast (talk) 17:00, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Yes, that should work, if it's graphically not so close to the original that it would qualify as "derivative". Thanks for the offer. Fut.Perf. ☼ 20:04, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, then I better should start working on it. I've saved the original file on my hard drive and you can expect a draft whithin the timeline I've set. I'm saying a draft since other editors can work out possible flaws in my version. Cheers. The Magnificent Clean-keeper (talk) 21:00, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

as I'll create a free image soonafter creation of a free-use replacement by me or by whoever beats me to it (since I have PC/software problems that might delay my effort slightly). - Uhm, I've "done it". I've uploaded a new version but since I'm used to upload at commons I think I screwed up. Can someone please check and fix it if necessary? Also the image itself is not exactly state of the art in my opinion. Still, now it's a free version that can be modified w/o worrying about copyright issues. - File:Hills Centre Station Proposed.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Damaster98 (notify | contribs).
- This non-free image has has no explicit rationale for use in the North West Metro article. The project which it depicts has been "postponed indefinitely due to budgetary constraints", which means it is unlikely to be built in the current form. It is difficult to see how this image can add significantly to the reader's understanding or why it is "valuable as historical information". I do not believe that this image meets WP:NFCC#8. - File:Hispano-Suiza 66G.JPG (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by Talgo81 (notify | contribs).
- This non-free image does not seem to be discussed in the Hispano-Suiza article. The rationale claims it is used "for identification purposes", but it is likely that a number of the Hispano-Suiza trucks exist in museums and outside of them. This appears to be a modified HS 66G in fine condition. Should be replaceable by some sort of free image and so likely does not meet WP:NFCC#1. Probably doesn't meet WP:NFCC#8 either. - File:Hitachi Super Express rendering.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs) - uploaded by DAJF (notify | contribs).
- The rationale claims that this non-free image serves "to visually identify subject of the" Hitachi Super Express article. Since the subject of the article hasn't been built and may never be or may look entirely different when it is built it's not clear to me how showing this artists impression adds significantly to the reader's understanding as required by WP:NFCC#8. Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:30, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. As the editor that uploaded the image, I am probably biased, but I would have thought that an image of the train is rather important to the Hitachi Super Express article precisely because the train has not yet been built and because readers will want to know what it may look like. --DAJF (talk) 23:30, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep I agree with the editor that uploaded the image. The artist's impression isn't necessarily likely to deviate from the train that is built and therefore it serves a useful purpose.Grizzlyqi (talk) 09:15, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
