- The point, however, is that you don't need a non-free photo of a damaged building to understand that buildings were damaged. I can go to Earthquake or Commons:Earthquake and find all sorts of photos that show what buildings that were damaged by earthquakes look like. Do you have any sourced commentary on this photo itself, or was this building depicted here so important and the damage here so iconic that that you absolutely must have the photo in order to understand the points being made in the article? - I reduced the resolution of the photo (Ceranthor is the original uploader) and reviewed it for its first FAC. Per my opinion there, I believe it qualifies for fair use because it is significant to the subject (an earthquake in Kentucky), and clearly helps readers to understand the extent of the damages compared to words alone. Even though the present commercial value of this non-free image may be low, it's still a clear example of what non-free images are not for on Wikipedia: merely illustrative use lacking the transformative component characteristic of legitimate Fair Use. The fact that this nomination has been sitting around for a month after closing time, with a numerical vote count for keep but no administrator willing to either carry out that vote or override it, indicates that the numerical picture here may not reflect true consensus. - Speedy keep, does add understanding about Ken Jennings, as specifically addressed in the article about him. Demonstrative of his artistic creativity (drawing, sketching, painting) which was repeatedly brought up in his 75 games and also of his longevity on the show (no other contestant had the opportunity to sign in so many times). - Can you clarify? If you are saying that a person's signature in the style of a Star Trek font means that the signature becomes a copyright-protected artwork with the copyright belonging to the copyright holder of the font, then you're way off base. If you're saying that the signatures all belong to Jeopardy Productions Inc. inasmuch as they are derived from screenshots from the television show, then "exclud[ing] some the fancier signatures" wouldn't change anything. - The artwork in the signatures is copyrighted by Ken Jennings, because he did them on the show, although it might be possible that his contract with Jeopardy Productions assigns them the rights. Either way, it's irrelevant: a number of the ones in the montage here are too simple to qualify for copyright protection. - Delete The article on Jennings already contains detailed information about his academic background and other biographical information. This image adds nothing to the article.
