Wikipedia:Editor review/Stevefarrell

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stevefarrell (talk · contribs) I've been an editor on Wikipedia for close to three years now (beginning in mid-2004), and have made a number of edits over that time, although most of them have been during this year.

Compared to other people who have been here as long as me (and some for a much shorter amount of time than me), I've really gone about my business pretty much unnoticed; so really I'm here to ask where I'm going right or wrong with my edits, and what I need to do to be more involved in the community in general. Reviews

For a three-year veteran, you sure have been quiet! No worry though, participation in Wikipedia space (WP:AFD, CFD, UCFD, TFD, and IFD) should set you straight, anti-vandal activity would help your user talk count, so would article collaborations. Good luck! Xiner (talk, email) 17:47, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
The one thing I am most proud of doing on Wikipedia has been creating the Your Sinclair article. I created the article way back in 2004, even before I had a username, and since then it has undergone numerous changes and revisions, to the point where recently someone suggested it could be a "good article" candidate. (I haven't put it up for review though). I made significant changes to the article during August 2006, with the help of others, and also added citations and references that had previously been missing.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I haven't been involved in any serious conflicts with other editors; although I have had heated discussions with other users on occasion. The main problem I have had recently has been with useless information being added to articles such as Keyboardist (ie, names being added to the 'list of notable keyboardists' unnecessarily) and was accused of claiming ownership of an article, which I was not; and just wanted to see a neat, short list and not an indiscriminate list of every keyboard player ever.
