[edit]- Urdaneta, Pangasinan (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://urdaneta-city.gov.ph/ourdaneta/our-city/history-of-urdaneta/ and http://urdaneta-city.gov.ph/ourdaneta/our-city/facts-and-figures/location-and-geography/ Psychonaut (talk) 08:11, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

- AIRLEAP (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://www.airleap.org/ http://www.airleap.org/BoardOfDirectors.htm http://www.airleap.org/mission.htm. This was originally listed on February 24th. I tried to clean it before realizing that copying extends through every text section. The original contributor had not been notified, so I chose to blank and relist, with proper notification. - 666 Park Avenue (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://www.sidereel.com/666_park_avenue/season-1/episode-13. Psychonaut (talk) 17:13, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- I had written this on 25th Feb after watching the Spanish version aired on 19th Feb. The English version has not even been aired. This page has been created recently and they have copied it from wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KakCheshtha (talk • contribs) 09:17, 28 March 2013
- Strange that SideReel (which is operated by media giant Rovi) would need to copy from Wikipedia, and then only our 13th episode summary but not the previous twelve. —Psychonaut (talk) 09:32, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- Because the episode hasn't yet been released in English. The webpage wasn't even created when i uploaded the content. You appear to be displaying symptoms of WP:IDHT --KakCheshtha (talk) 09:56, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- Here are links doubting Sidereel's authenticity and implying it's role in encouraging piracy http://www.quora.com/Can-sidereel-com-become-a-successful-stable-business-without-getting-sued-into-oblivion-for-linking-to-copyrighted-content and http://northwesternbusinessreview.org/students-begin-to-look-to-cheap-legal-alternatives-instead-of-pirating/ --KakCheshtha (talk) 10:56, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- If you go the webpage http://www.sidereel.com/666_park_avenue/season-1/episode-13 and right-click on the page and select View Page Info, you will notice that the last modified date is showing as 28th March 2013. Most, likely this copyright infringement happened today. --KakCheshtha (talk) 10:56, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- I think you need to think about that one a little bit. Just because the page was modified today doesn't mean the material in contention was added today. (In fact, it's demonstrably false that it was added today, given that my copyvio report dates from yesterday.) To definitively settle the question we need to find out when the material was originally added to SideReel (or more specifically, whether this addition was before or after 25 February at 07:40 UTC, which is when you added it to Wikipedia). Unfortunately neither the Wayback machine nor Google's cache has a record of the SideReel page. —Psychonaut (talk) 11:40, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
- The absence of Google cache might actually imply that the page is quite recent.--KakCheshtha (talk) 12:05, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

No copyright concern. Material PD or appropriately licensed for use. The absence of Google cache unfortunately doesn't help that much, but what does help is signs of natural evolution. First of all, the name "Louise" was consistently misspelled on our version when you added it as "Louis". The external site doesn't make this error. And your modification of the material moves it closer to their version, rather than further away. Both of these are indicators that they copied from you rather than the other way around. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:12, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (history · last edit · rewrite). Numerous contributions from User:KakCheshtha seem to be copied verbatim or closely paraphrased from the sources he or she cites. I noted copying from http://books.google.de/books?id=bpn1u9hziVgC&pg=PA4&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false and http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/256806-workup#showall though there are probably further examples (possibly including journal articles and books not available online). - Varna (Hinduism) (history · last edit · rewrite). Numerous contributions from User:KakCheshtha seem to be copied verbatim or closely paraphrased from the sources he or she cites. I have identified copying from http://www.iep.utm.edu/hindu-ph/#SSH1a.iv and http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/98395/caste. There is also unattributed copying from http://www.archive.org/stream/purushasukta00unkngoog/purushasukta00unkngoog_djvu.txt – while this is plagiarism it isn't a copyright violation as the text is in the public domain. There are probably further examples as this user has made substantial contributions to the article. Psychonaut (talk) 17:28, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. Duplication confirmed; reverted. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:20, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Buddhism and Hinduism (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://www.iep.utm.edu/hindu-ph/#SSH1a.iv. Other contributions to this article by User:KakCheshtha may be similarly problematic; I didn't have time to check them all. Psychonaut (talk) 19:24, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. User only added one more sentence; I didn't find a match, but that would be di minimis at worst. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:23, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Narayana (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://nitaaiveda.com/All_Scriptures_By_Acharyas/Upanishads/Sri_Narayana_Upanisad_Of_the_Krsna_Yajur_Veda.htm. This is an English translation of Hindu scripture; I'm not sure of the date so it's quite possible the translation (though not the scripture itself) is still under copyright. Other contributions to this article by User:KakCheshtha may be similarly problematic; I didn't have time to check them all. Psychonaut (talk) 19:29, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

- Per 17 U.S.C. § 105 U.S. government works are not copyrighted, but according to http://www.usa.gov/copyright.shtml, “Not all information that appears on U.S. government websites is considered to be a U.S. government work.” For example, material written by government employees in the course of their official duties is not copyrighted, but material written by an independent contractor may (depending on the circumstances) be copyrighted by the government, or by the contractor. You may contact the agency to verify the copyright status of a specific web page. Bwrs (talk) 04:18, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
No copyright concern. Material PD or appropriately licensed for use. This one should be okay. It says, "CDC/National Center for Health Statistics" for source. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:43, 5 May 2013 (UTC)

Article cleaned by investigator or others. No remaining infringement. That wasn't close paraphrasing - that was a blatant text dump. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:59, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
