[edit]- Lorenzo Donati (history · last edit) from [1]. The text on the site is in Italian and appears to have been directly translated into English, even retaining sentence order and paragraph structure. I can't read Italian, but the article is very close to the Google translation of the website. If the original site was in English I would have flagged it for speedy deletion, but I wasn't sure if the act of translation is sufficient grounds to void the copyright concerns. Entire article is stuff copy and pasted from this guy's website, which is even included in the page as his official website Weaponbb7 (talk) 03:46, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

- Franny and Zooey (history · last edit) from [2] and multiple subpages. But here's the question: is the Wiki version a copy of SparkNotes, or is it the other way around? Steamroller Assault (talk) 05:02, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- It seems that this may be the case, unfortunately. I was, at first, tempted to believe that our article had been copied by SparkNotes. However, a look at the edit history shows a massive copy-and-paste by two IPs, 86.179.71.32 and 86.177.82.153, on 17 and 13 October, respectively, which was only partially reverted. It is likely that this was one editor, who simply replaced the previous text with text taken from SparkNotes. The sections can be restored to their previous state, but it will take a little time. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 05:27, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- Based on RepublicanJacobite's forensics and this diff, I am restoring to a previous version to remove the copyvio. It appears there have been no major edits since that time, and a rebuild from that state should not be a huge problem. Steamroller Assault (talk) 09:37, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

- Unassociated Writers Conference and Dance Party (history · last edit) from http://nestuccaspitpress.com/links.html and others (pure press-release footer tripe). Most remaining prose is cut-and-paste of lengthy quotes attributed to subject's own creators through copyrighted periodicals. Closeapple (talk) 05:43, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

- Henry Curtis-Bennett (history · last edit) from [3]. This is the third article I have come across created by User:Craigy144 that contains material far too close to the subscription site of the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (ODNB). The other two are Reader Bullard, and George Cockburn (British Army officer). The Cockburn article can and should be replaced by text from the public domain Dictionary of National Biography (DNB). Those latter two carry the template claiming their text comes from the DNB, which would be OK; but that template is misleading. I found them while trying to reference such articles created from DNB text; the Curtis-Bennett article I found by going looking for articles created by this editor in 2008. I don't know how much more there is of similar creations from the ODNB pages, which are definitely copyright. Charles Matthews (talk) 20:06, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- I am investigating this, and will relist under today's listing to make sure it doesn't drop off the radar. I'll blank the articles as necessary pending resolution. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:13, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
