- The result of the discussion was: I personally agree with Johnbod on this one, in my own limited experience, I've not heard of "megabat" either, but "fruit bat" I do recognize. However, the article is at megabat, and so for consistency, rename to Category:Megabats. To be reversed if/when the article is renamed, naturally. Kbdank71 13:53, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Fruit bats to Category:megabats
- Nominator's rationale: Rename. Article's at megabat: fruit bat and Pteropodidae redirect there. Consistency one way or the other would seem to be desirable. Alai (talk) 00:50, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Comment If this goes through, then it ought to be capitalized normally, i.e. Category:Megabats. Stepheng3 (talk) 04:40, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- That's a distinction without a difference. Page names are normalised with respect to initial capitals. Alai (talk) 18:34, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

- Rename to Category:Megabats to match Megabat. Occuli (talk) 14:16, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Keep Never heard the term before, and I'm dubious the article should have been merged to this "informal" (the article says) name. Fruit bats or even Flying foxes would be better. Rather misleading too, as some are only 2.4 inches long, smaller than some "microbats". Fruit bats may have some definitional problems, as this does too, but is much better known & should be kept. Johnbod (talk) 20:10, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
- Are you then going to propose moving the article, then? In the event of there being a consensus for that, that'd be fair enough, but let's try to have some consistency one way or the other. Alai (talk) 02:48, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- Rename for current consistency between article and category; no reason it couldn't be renamed back should the article name change, of course. Good Ol’factory (talk) 07:51, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
