Apocryphal
[edit]Apocryphal is simply an adjective meaning likely untrue. It's a completely different concept from books that were rejected from the Bible Oiyarbepsy (talk) 19:27, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- No opinion on this, but noting that a {{Wiktionary hatnote}} can be used. 1234qwer1234qwer4 21:05, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

- Keep. The first definition of the word at wikt:apocryphal is "(Christianity) Of, or pertaining to, the Apocrypha." I don't understand the reasoning behind the suggestion to retarget this to Apocrypha (disambiguation), because the term doesn't directly apply to the items listed there. - Eureka Lott 18:41, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- I looked at several of the pages in Special:WhatLinksHere/Apocryphal and found that most of them don't have anything to do with Christianity or the Bible and don't use the word in the biblical sense but in the generic sense explained in the first sentence of Apocrypha (disambiguation). For most of these pages, the redirect to Apocrypha is just wrong. — Chrisahn (talk) 00:58, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- Retarget to Apocrypha (disambiguation) as per Chrisahn and Lenticel. If 'apocryphal' is 'pertaining to apocrypha', then that could be a number of different things, all of which are listed at this disambig. It also has a Wiktionary hatnote to Apocrypha, from where one can easily get to Apocryphal. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 18:47, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, it could refer to a number of things, but Apocrypha has been determined to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the term. Forcing readers to a disambiguation page would be a disservice. - Eureka Lott 20:49, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- It has been determined to be the primary topic for the noun. Policies like WP:DIFFCAPS/WP:DIFFPUNC or WP:DIFFPLURAL show that it is not clear that the same should be the case for the adjective. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:37, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'd honestly say no, in this case it's NOT the same primary topic. Using the second/third definitions listed on Wiktionary (which... admittedly seem to be the same definition repeated twice, to my brain???) is common enough, and discussion of the actual Apocrypha is rare enough, that I'm fairly certain it's caused the primary topic for the adjective to shift. - Just FYI all topics that the article did cover are in the target article with much better sources. To achieve a more neutral text we folded the info into the narrative overall (apparent if anyone actually reads the original and target article) as per WP:INDISCRIMINATE. If working on draft- target page has the better sources. Moxy🍁 07:03, 3 July 2025 (UTC)

- Delete, eh. Look, I'm sorry about the article history here, but this had all of one or two sentences that actually dealt with stereotypes. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but there's nothing at the current target about this, making this misleading. There might very well be an article to write here, but WP:REDYES until then. I'd say more, but I don't want to miss the opening face off. Sorry, 35.139.154.158 (talk) 18:29, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

Jacob Wasserman
[edit]- Jacob Wasserman → Jakob Wassermann (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Doesn't fit either Jacob Wassermann or it's target Jakob Wassermann. Epluribusunumyall (talk) 08:31, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Same goes for Jacob Wasserman (rower) which was originally created by accident. - Epluribusunumyall (talk) 09:15, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. This is a highly plausible misspelling, particularly for someone who has heard the name but not seen it written. Thryduulf (talk) 11:06, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep as a common transliteration for Jakob Wassermann at the Library of Congress,[1] at commercial outlets like Amazon,[2][3] at various publishers, and in the press.[4][5][6] gidonb (talk) 12:29, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Disambiguate the former, keep the latter (which really should've been bundled in); while this flouts WP:RTYPO due to being TWO typographical errors, gidonb has a point in that this misspelling is in active use in at least one high profile place, and Thryduulf is also correct in that this is a fairly reasonable phonetic spelling. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫--Sorry, er,-- 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 13:57, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- WP:RTYPO is not relevant as this is not a typo but a misspelling. Thryduulf (talk) 18:05, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Disambig/keep stands stronger 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 18:35, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- WP:RTYPO is not relevant as this is not a typo but a misspelling. Thryduulf (talk) 18:05, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep as a plausible {{r from misspelling}}. Jacob Wassermann and Jakob Wassermann have mutual hatnotes, so if there's any confusion, it's mitigated right away. Do not create a disambiguation page based on a misspelling. - Eureka Lott 23:44, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- I mean, I'd consider hatnoting to BE a type of disambiguation, so, I'm happy. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 00:24, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Comment. As Jakob Wassermann or his literary agent working on his behalf used the name Jacob Wasserman for American publications, misspelling does not cover the name. Jacob Wasserman in this case is a transliteration and synonym for Jakob Wassermann. Jakob Wassermann should be viewed as primary for the author. gidonb (talk) 00:45, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- Agree this is a plausible redirect, but I would retarget to Jacob Wassermann; the number of "n"s at the end of the last name should be independent of the spelling of the first name. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:06, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Is Jacob Wasserman also a common transliteration for the sportsperson, or just a typo that might occur one day? gidonb (talk) 11:50, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
Karaganda Zoo.
[edit]- Karaganda Zoo. → Karaganda Zoo (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Old typo (period at the end) fixed today Викидим (talk) 06:54, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- This exists as the result of a partially botched page move; might qualify for WP:R3 speedy deletion. Left guide (talk) 07:35, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- The redirect has non-trivial history from 2012, 2018 and 2025 (that I'm still trying to get my head around) so R3 and G6 definitely don't apply. Thryduulf (talk) 11:12, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Comment the history here is confusing and I'm still not certain I've understood it, but I think the page history currently at the title with the full stop should actually be at Karagandy Zoo: The preferred page title seems to have been disputed a few times over the years, but most recently (2 days ago) HtialilwW moved Karagandy Zoo to Karaganda Zoo. and then (I think) cocked up when trying to remove the trailing full stop? Earlier today Left guide then tried to fix that with a round-robin page move and the page history is now a mess. Whatever happens the sequence of page titles should be listed and annotated somewhere (probably Karaganda Zoo) so that nobody else has to spend time figuring this out in the future. Thryduulf (talk) 11:24, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. If need be, the edit history can be moved to another title, such as Karaganda Zoo (Kazakhstan). Steel1943 (talk) 15:55, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- The Karagandy Zoo redirect currently has two edits of history from HtialilwW. Delete that one, and move the page with 2012 history (currently located at Karaganda Zoo.) back to that title (which is where it used to be up until 21 July 2025). Utopes (talk / cont) 19:04, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with this solution. It seems like the simplest way to delete the unhelpful redirect while preserving the meaningful history. Left guide (talk) 20:08, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- I also think that's the best solution. Thryduulf (talk) 09:23, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

DJVI
[edit]Not mentioned at target. Unrelated uses exist at German trawler V 206 Otto Bröhan for a ship callsign and at DjVu for an element of the file format. 1234qwer1234qwer4 01:08, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Time for a history dive! The section that contained references to DJ-Nate and DJVI is NOT the Music section that currently exists; these redirects were created to reference a Music section that was deleted in July of 2023 for being completely uncited. The current Music section was added in April of this year, and as noted does not contain reference to either artist.Prior to all of that, though, the DJVI redirect had two stints of being an attempt at an article; the first time was a short unformatted paragraph, the second time was as a fully formatted article. Unfortunately, neither had sources and they were then reverted back to the redirect-- the latter fully-formatted but unsourced version after a mere 30 minutes. If you guys wanna restore this version, go right ahead. (No prejudice to sending it directly to AfD, of course.) 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 03:09, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Huh. I went to notify the users who made the DJVI article and who reverted it respectively; the latter is a WP:dead Wikipedian and the former is... someone who doesn't have a user page or talk page (somehow???) and whose only footprint on Wikipedia at all ever-- no block, no other edits, nothing-- was making this article that got reverted by someone else within 30 minutes. What. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 (talk) 06:39, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Delete as related content was reverted. The BLARd unsourced (except for social media handles) bio needn't be kept. If user Iemand990 requests the content back later, an admin can provide it. Although the term is unambiguous on enwiki for the German trawler, I don't think it is useful as a redirect. Jay 💬 08:03, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
