Is this a WP:DICDEF, or a very poorly built disambiguation page? –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 18:15, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Perhaps the best thing to do with this article is to move it to draft space. Its topic is notable enough for having a Wikipedia article, but having looked at the article, it seems too concise and basic to constitute a proper article. YTKJ (talk) 20:37, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

- What was wrong with the original redirect at Special:Permalink/302277061? The target mentions X-ray machines 8 times, rather belieing the claim at Talk:X-ray generator#Change name to "X-ray machine"? that the target article isn't about X-ray machines. Uncle G (talk) 21:07, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Exactly. The real article was moved to X-ray generator, and the redirect it left worked fine for 8 years when someone decided to overlay it with this "article" (which obscures the thing most accessors would be looking for IMO). --R. S. Shaw (talk) 05:28, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- That article seems only concerned with medical and security imaging devices. It doesn't deal with other types of X-ray generators, such as Synchrotrons, or applications, such as X-ray diffraction. To my mind, the generator is only the part of the device that generates the x-rays, and this is made rather redundant by X-ray tube. So I would support a move of X-ray generator back to X-ray machine as the WP:COMMONNAME of medical and security X-ray devices. Polyamorph (talk) 07:26, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

- A proper Dab seems to be the best thing to do with this. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 12:42, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
Redirect to X-ray. Owen× ☎ 14:12, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Changed after reading comments from Polyamorph. Owen× ☎ 14:56, 16 November 2023 (UTC)- Move X-ray generator back to X-ray machine and tag for cleanup, per my comments above and at Talk:X-ray generator. It seems the talk page wasn't moved with the main page, so a history merge may be required there. Polyamorph (talk) 14:28, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- Move X-ray generator back to X-ray machine, per Polyamorph's convincing argument. Owen× ☎ 14:56, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
