WASD keys

Patent original research; no sources; no notability. Since when is a particular keyboard configuration scheme notable? Do we have articles on "Spacebar as a jump button?" Chardish (talk) 21:07, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. As I noted on the article's talk page some time ago, the scope of the article is not well-defined (or, at least, apparently not enforced). I think a more encyclopedically approachable context is a history of control schemes for computer games (yes, including spacebar as a jump button). I agree that an entire article about 4 keys probably cannot be fleshed out, but I think this could be expanded or merged in preference to deleted. Ham Pastrami (talk) 22:35, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Week keep or merge - This is definitely a notable concept, and even if there aren't many references they're definitely out there. The only question is if this can ever have enough information to be anything more than an extended dictionary definition. If someone has a suggestion for a merge, I'd be open to it. Keep and sort out what needs to be done with it. It is very clearly a distinct topic from other controls and inputs. For example, many computer gaming devices are advertised as having "WASD keys". Keep or more likely Merge to some appropriate article. OR cleanup is always a good idea, but I think mentioning the default key layout in every freaking FPS game since Quake fell out of vogue in an encyclopaedia would be a nice idea on general terms. Keep Definitely notable. Lots of links and redirects that point here. Can't redirect to arrow keys because arrow keys has links back to here - possibly this article was factored from arrow keys in the first place. Could use some sources, but AfD is not cleanup.
