- Keep. Held two named chairs at University of Texas Austin, the Cockrell Family Regents Chair #11 and a leadership chair.[1]--Samuel J. Howard (talk) 19:38, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Keep per WP:PROF#C3 (named chairs as above) and #C1 (highly cited publications as listed in Google scholar [2]). He's also a winner of the PNAS Cozzarelli Prize but I don't think that's significant enough for notability by itself. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:37, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
