WP:NOTDIRECTORY I see no encyclopedic reason for this article CTJF83 chat 05:06, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I guess it's interesting and useful, but nominator is right that Wikipedia isn't a directory. I would say that some of this could be mentioned in the article Ten-code (which, depending on what day it is, sometimes has a list of such codes and their meaning for different police departments) and that a link would be provided for people who want to know more. This is not information that would be lost if the article is deleted. Mandsford (talk) 15:08, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Wikipedia is a source of miscellaneous information , like an almanac, as well as an encyclopedia .A list of these for major cities --especially those cites frequently the settings of fiction--would be appropriate information. A list of this for every possible jurisdiction would not. DGG ( talk ) 06:23, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete I'd add that this is nothing more than a copy and paste of this, so it's not as if this was a product of someone's hard work, nor will it be a matter of losing information (in other words, the link can be included in the Ten-code article. I guess the prospect of having lists for cities that are the settings for police shows may be what I find most unsettling. I'd rather that a link to the official NYPD codes site be added to the article about NYPD Blue or CSI:NY or any other place where it might be a welcome addition. - Delete. Once again, lists are abused on Wikipedia and someone will almost always !vote to keep them. JBsupreme (talk) 14:27, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per Wikipedia is not Google, and this page happens to be ripped off a Google page ([1]). If this is not COPYVIO, it's much too localized compared to the Ten-codes article. Seems to me that Ten-codes is doing the job just fine without a merge from this one. Yoninah (talk) 21:47, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- keep the utility of the NYPD 10-code for fiction consumers makes it worthy of retention; it should be noted that including it in the main Ten-codes page would confuse, and does confuse, due to redefinitions. It's even more useful for authoring fictional content, for both writing and roleplaying contexts. Wfh (talk) 08:31, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Already mentioned in the main [[[Ten-code]] article and WP:NOTDIRECTORY. I put the web reference as an external link in that article so it's still easily accessible for those who want it. VernoWhitney (talk) 20:01, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
