Lift vector

The concept of lift vector is comprehensively covered at Lift (force). The information provided here is either technically incorrect or duplicates what is provided elsewhere. Dolphin51 (talk) 05:19, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD's the wrong place for this. I think it's obvious that "Lift vector" shouldn't be a redlink on Wikipedia. It should be a redirect to Lift (force).
The only purpose of AfD is to decide whether an article should be a redlink on Wikipedia. WP:BEFORE makes it completely clear that if there's an alternative to deletion, the alternative should be employed, and in this case, it clearly should.
I suggest this is speedily redirected and the AfD speedily closed per WP:SNOW.—S Marshall ^Talk/_Cont 09:59, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An article on Lift Vector seems redundant when we already have an article on Lift Force. A force *is* a vector, so "lift vector" is just a slightly less precise wording of "lift force". I'd vote for a redirection to Lift(force). Mr swordfish (talk) 14:23, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. The term "lift force" is also somewhat imprecise. Lift is a force and hence "lift vector" is equivalent to "force vector", not lift force. Lift vector is a common terminology used in aerodynamics and flight mechanics. Salih (talk) 17:06, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe consensus has been reached. S Marshall has suggested Lift vector should become a re-direct to Lift (force) as specified in WP:BEFORE and no-one has said anything against the suggestion. Dolphin51 (talk) 02:58, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
