  • I use published in the dictionary sense; "issued for sale and distribution" from wiktionary. If they had 4 albums released by a real music label, then they seem notable to me. Edit: their albums are available at amazon, and both soundtracks are for notable films with wikipages (needed wikifiying).Yobmod (talk) 10:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong Keep. I remember this band from like 15 years ago, a friend of mine had the compilation album "Industrial Revolution". Yes, they are a notable part of the "industrial music" scene of the early 1990s. I don't understand how a band that released eight albums not counting the soundtracks or compilations could be considered other than notable. Please see WP:Recentism.   • I have found many music projects that have not released 8 albums and yet have wiki pages. Furthermore, the eight albums are not all that is noteworthy. Being mentioned in the Industrial Revolution book (historical analysis of modern industrial and avant guard music) stands to point our their notoriety. The feature films add to their notoriety as well. It seems odd that Brewcrewer considers the films not noteworthy when one of America's leading film critic does. Where are the standards for what makes a notable film? Would Brewcrewer consider Stan Brakage films not notable because they weren't released in theaters? Even though these have.

Quite frankly I am shocked at the amount of bands that obviously have no notoriety and should not be allowed a page under the Brewcrewer tight restrictions. They have not released as many albums and were not mentioned in any sourced material. Yet, they still have pages. There are many noteworthy bands who should actually fail the noteworthy standard. One might check Psychic TV for example. This group never made the top 100 rock charts and yet they are allowed to have a page. Their history is important to the Industrial music genre, but by Brewcrewer definitions should not have a wiki page.

What seems to me to be apparent here is the inconsistency in assessing noteworthiness. But what is worse of all is that I get blind requests from people to explain this or that about an industrial band (because of my book project) and I really wish they could just wiki the names. --RudolphSteiner (talk) 03:28, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per WP:Music #5 which states: "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)." Amazon has their albums released by Invisible Records, a label with a 20+ year history that still exists today and has a roster with plenty of blue linked performers.   • Keep per WP:Music #6 which states Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such, and that common sense exceptions always apply. -- since Matthew Schultz was also a part of the ensemble of Pigface -- bowensanders (talk) 05:20, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
