The subject of this article does not appear to meet the general notability guideline or the WP:NHOCKEY guideline for ice hockey players. PROD was removed with no supporting reasons given. Onthegogo (talk) 21:38, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Haven't found an avenue where he meets WP:NHOCKEY. Can be re-created if he ever does. Patken4 (talk) 22:09, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - barely meets (but still, does meet) WP:GNG per his press coverage[1][2] + [3], thus no other route to establishing notability need be considered. Thparkth (talk) 02:36, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Athletes have to play in major professional leagues to qualify for Wikipedia articles; the fact that a junior-level athlete has garnered marginal coverage in the hometown newspaper of the city the team he plays for is located in doesn't demonstrate anything unless you can point to coverage outside of his hometown media market too — until such time as he actually gets drafted into the National Hockey League, any high school athlete in Saskatoon with a modicum of talent will get as much coverage in the Star Phoenix as Trask does, and it doesn't make them notable either. Furthermore, given the fact that the article's creator has the username User:Baileytrask, there's a very high likelihood of WP:COI here — a concern which isn't exactly assuaged by the article's assertion that "he looks good in a suit" (as if that were the least bit verifiable in reliable sources, or even the least bit interesting or relevant to an article about an athlete.) - Comment - Meeting the WP:GNG is sufficient to demonstrate notability. Subject-specific guidelines do not override the GNG; rather they provide alternate means to demonstrate that it is probably satisfied. Thparkth (talk) 11:20, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Merely getting drafted in the NHL would still fall short of WP:NHOCKEY. He would either have to get drafted in the first round, win a significant amateur/junior award, play one game in the NHL or other "major" league, play 100 games in a "minor" league, or appear in a sanctioned international senior ice hockey tournament. - Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

- Delete This does not meet WP:NHOCKEY, due to his status as an athlete, nor does it meet WP:GNG due to a lack of reliable sources. The sources provided in the article and those provided in this discussion do not meet WP:IS. Mentioning of an athlete by a local paper (not only local, but very questionably third-party) does not constitute notability. Lord Arador (talk) 04:45, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, does not meet the notability requirements at WP:ATHLETE. Wait till he plays in the NHL. Corvus cornixtalk 04:46, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
