Although a widely known catchphrase, I'm not sure this trademark is appropriate for an encyclopedia article. I have nothing against merging pertinent information with Lifecall/ Lifealert. Also fails WP:V and WP:SOURCES Rackabello 19:11, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge and redirect to Life Alert Emergency Response, Inc. There aren't reliable sources specifically about the phrase but this definitely warrants some space in the article, along with a sentence or two about the commercials, the star and the mockumentary about the star. - Merge and redirect. There isn't really much to say about this. - Che Nuevara 20:39, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep or merge There are about 5 nursing articles in scholar that reference this and at least one patent. --Buridan 21:06, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep, no merge, no redirect. As with "Today is the first day of the rest of your life", the catchphrase took on a life of its own well beyond the Life Alert company. Cultural historians will note that at the turn of the century, this was used as a humorous euphemism for time when life was not going well. Mandsford 21:36, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep I venture to say that the line is more notable than the company -Drdisque 00:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Notability for Wikipedia purposes is established by showing there are reliable sources that are substantially about the subject. Are there sources that are substantially about this phrase? Otto4711 03:33, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Look at the article, there's several -Drdisque 06:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Actually there aren't. There are links to external sources, yes, but they are not substantially about the catchphrase. Otto4711 12:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep and don't merge. The notability of this phrase is independent of the far-less-notable product it advertised. To those of who weren't born yet or were very young in the early 1990s, I can tell you this was a very popular catchphrase. I even remember hearing a news report about legal troubles involving the makers of LifeCall. The news anchor opened the report by saying, "The 'I've fallen and I can't get up' people are in big trouble". szyslak 10:47, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep because if Wikipedia can have detailed entries for individual episodes of anime series, "I've fallen and I can't get up" should have an entry too. Chris Buckey 17:37, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- WP:WAX is not a particularly compelling argument. Otto4711 18:44, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep notable. JJL 00:10, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep and don't merge. Notable-- there's even an I've Fallen and I Can't Get up dance remix on youtube with clips from the original advertisement. Voyager640 15:42, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
