The result was redirect‎ to Portland Police Bureau. Redirect is needed for attribution following the merger. If you believe the title should be freed, it may need to go to RfD to retarget the CPOB to something like CPOB (Portland). It could have been done with a move and merge but do not believe it can be done now without the redirect. Star Mississippi 00:43, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article is highly myopic ultra super local article and does not warrant its own article per WP:NORG. I would consider re-directing to Government of Portland, Oregon, however given the lack of the word "Portland" in article title, the title doesn't adequately show the local nature, so the current title is far too broad in scope and not an appropriate title for a re-direct. "Community Police" could mean anywhere in the world. Graywalls (talk) 19:06, 10 March 2025 (UTC) I've already merged the relevant contents to a different article and so far other editors are in agreement with that target. I put it as AfD rather than re-directing simply because this title isn't appropriate for a re-dir. So basically I agree with the already done merge I did.. just that this title should be del'd. Multiple of them exist, maybe it could be redirected to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_oversight_of_law_enforcement, though it doesn't seem like all organizations with the same or similar names are independent. Hihyphilia (talk) 19:17, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the subject could be discussed briefly in Portland Police Bureau, without a re-direct given the highly generic title of this article. The article in question is extra super hyperlocal concern regarding Portland, Oregon. Graywalls (talk) 19:21, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Merge to Portland Police Bureau without leaving a redirect behind, because the current title is too generic to redirect. There's some reliable sources in this but it doesn't really needs its own article, as far as I can tell, and would be better merged. Mrfoogles (talk) 20:22, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge to Portland Police Bureau.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 06:36, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: If I'm understanding the conversation right (it looks like a !vote got written into the middle of another !vote), it appears that Graywalls has already merged the relevant content, and Graywalls, CF-501 Falcon, Villkomoses, and Mrfoogles oppose this title being a redirect after. I agree with this approach, given that this title is not appropriate for a redirect to Portland Police Bureau since an identical name is used in Dallas, La Mesa, Austin and other cities. The creation of a different redirect is an editorial decision, so with the merger of text already completed, the consensus appears to be deletion.
