According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "We are very pleased to be back in North Carolina - a great basketball state - and we have an excellent, well-qualified group of individuals leading the way. This will be a very successful organization. Wesley E. Mason, III will serve as co-owner of the team. He is currently Chief Executive Officer at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services in Winston-Salem. "Wes is a driven, passionate, visionary leader who not only inspires his colleagues for excellence, but the lives of young people," added Newman. "Wes will bring the same energy to the Winston-Salem ABA team." LaToya Camille Shine Mason is the other co-owner. Currently she owns and operates Edible Arrangements in North Little Rock, AR and successfully manages several real estate properties. "My vision is to bring a quality basketball team to Winston-Salem that will be entertaining and affordable to the community," said Mrs. Mason. Bryan Short has been appointed team General Manager. He is currently Director of Player Personnel at Alliance Sports Management. Bryan attended Kentucky Christian University and Florida Christian University, playing both baseball and basketball. The Triad Community chose the name Winston-Salem Storm through the "Name Your Team" contest that began last fall and concluded in January 2008. Community members voted online and at 12 local businesses. "This is the community's team," stated Mason. "It was important to have the community involved from the beginning." An overwhelming response to the name contest led to designing the brand identity. The Winston-Salem Storm partnered with One Hero Creative, a Winston-Salem based advertising agency, for this effort. The logo embodies the essence of the ABA and the strength and passion of basketball within the community. The mascot, a local species of owl, was chosen because it is a fierce hunter that storms its prey. Community support is instrumental for the basketball team to be successful for years to come. The Winston-Salem Storm is primed and ready to go according to team GM Bryan Short. "In addition to bringing one of the most exciting professional sports to Winston-Salem, the Winston-Salem Storm plans to provide employment opportunities and internships, raise funds for local charities and create scholarship funds. " Tryouts, internships, dance team and other team opportunities will be announced and posted on the website through local media. Currently there are negotiations with the Joel Coliseum to play at the Annex. "Winston-Salem is already in the running for the 2009 ABA All-Star Game," stated Wesley Mason. "I have discussed this with the ABA CEO. This is basketball country and there isn't a better choice than Winston-Salem to hold such an event." CarTrawler is a booking engine provider that supplies travel distribution technology to Argus Car Hire (also known as Argus Rentals and Argus Rent a Car), as well as other worldwide travel companies. Argus is one of the world’s largest independent internet-based car hire companies. Argus was set up by Mr Joseph Turley in 1959 as a small independently run car hire business. The Turley family of four boys and two girls grew up helping out in the family business. Today, the company trades as CarTrawler Ltd. It was established in 2004 by Greg and Niall Turley to provide customers with an online booking service that was simple and direct. To this day, the Argus brand is owned and managed independently by CarTrawler. It has its headquarters in Terenure, Dublin. The Argus Three Click System:[edit]Argus incorporates the real-time ‘Direct Connect’ technology of CarTrawler to allow suppliers to return their cheapest fully inclusive rates for each car individually. CarTrawler’s booking engine technology means customers choose their dates, vehicle and location in three steps. In 2004, Argus teamed up with CarTrawler to develop an integrated Ajax booking engine. The company’s cutting-edge technology can be accessed through two channels. Firstly through Arguscarhire.com and secondly through Cartrawler.com, the brand’s business to business division. Technological Advancements:[edit]Argus and Cartrawler have always encouraged the use of technology. In 1996 arguscarhire.com was the first English language car hire website to launch in Europe. In 1999 arguscarhire.com was the first European car rental website to develop a booking engine that allowed quotation and booking to be processed at the same time. In 2000 arguscarhire.com developed the first WAP phone enabled interface. In 2005 arguscarhire.com began offering its services on the iMode phone interface. In 2006 arguscarhire.com launched its multilingual websites. Advertising:[edit]In 2007 Argus Car Hire ran a series of flash animated advertising commercials sponsoring the Destination Report on Sky News Weather. The short commercials were directed by Bronagh O’ Hanlon of Academy Award nominated production company Brown Bag Films Ltd. Baraflokkurinn were an Icelandic punk group from Akureyi active between 1979-1983. They originally began as a glamrock band but quickly moved into a more electro-punk format in the then-growing Reykjavik new-wave scene that had been documented by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and that began such careers as those of Bjork. All of their songs were sung in English. Band Members[edit]Asgeir Jonsson - Vocals / Thor Freysson - Guitar / Jon Arnar Freysson - Keyboards / Baldvin H. The K770i is an updated version of the popular Sony Ericsson K800i, however it does have boast less features than the K800i. It is a slimmer, more modern design weighing 95g and still features the high quality a 3.2 megapixel digital camera (only with less powerful LED light) a protective lens cover, and a new "BestPic" bracketing feature, and are the first to be tagged with the Sony Cyber-shot branding. The new "BestPic" feature takes 9 full quality snapshots of a subject in quick succession, allowing the user to choose the best shots from them. On the entertainment front, the phones have a media player supporting MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ and WMA music files and 3GP/MPEG-4 video files. The phones also feature a RDS FM radio, and a Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot for expandable solid state memory (up to 2GB). The K770i Cyber-shot is a smooth all-rounder. It offers the 3.2 megapixel camera which isn't of a high quality as the K850i but is like the K800i but offers a new Photo Fix feature, allowing the user to modify the photo so it can look just as good as the K800i with the xenon flash. So, overall the phone wouldn't win the best Cyber-shot phone award nor would it for the music- where it is no competition to the W910i or W960i, but it does put up well against the W880i. So once again it wouldn't win an award for music. However, conclusively the phone would be classified as one of the best all round phones available to date for the Sony Ericsson series- but it could be argued to be over priced.....

Tom Davies (1896 - present) is a Russian screenwriter and novelist, as well as a notable centenarian. Born in Kazan, Russia under the name Timofei Davydova to Mikhail and Anna Davydova. His parents both died during the Russian Revolution, and so was raised by his aunt in Vladivostok. He was a soldier during World War I, though was removed from combat in 1915 because of a broken wrist. In 1925, at the age of 29, he married Anita Panov, but who died 3 years later. He never remarried. In 1939, he changed his name to Tom Davies, before enlisting for World War II, during which he was drafted to the British 1st Batallion Parachute Regiment where he learned English. After moving back to the Soviet Union in 1947, he began writing fiction and non-fiction novels, which were published but never received success. For the next 25 years, he worked as a successful butcher in Vladivostok around where he had grown up. He wrote the screenplay for the movie Devushka s Korobkoi (Girl with the Hatbox), in 1972, which met with surprising success. Davies wrote two more screenplays for the films, Shchaste (Happiness), and Detstvo Gor'kogo (The Childhood of Maxim Gorky). He retired in 1976 at the age of 80 to live on the coast of Wales where he had spent time during World War II. At the age of 112, Davies does not have any children or grandchildren, but has numerous great nieces and nephews, who take care of him.
