Parties[edit]The governing Democratic Justice Party(DJP) of recently elected President Roh Tae-woo, while remaining the largest party, lost its absolute parliamentary majority, the first for a ruling party. The party was hindered by a stronger opposition and the unpopularity of former party leader and President Chun Doo-hwan. The Party for Peace and Democracy led by veteran opposition leader Kim Dae Jung had a strong showing, coming a distant second but overtaking its opposition rival the Reunification Democratic Party (RDP) to become the largest parliamentary opposition party. This was vindication for Dae Jung, who came third behind both Tae-woo and Young-sam in the 1987 Presidential election. For Kim Young-sam and the Reunification Democratic Party the election was a major setback. The party came a distant third, this was after Kim had placed second in the 1987 Presidential Election, just ahead of Dae Jung. The New Democratic Republican Party (NDRP) led by former Prime Minister of South Korea Kim Jong-pil came a distant fourth. However, thanks to the failure of the DJP to win an absolute majority, Kim and the NDRP emerged as the major powerbrokers in the new National Assembly. Results[edit]

The tour kicked off at the Regent Theatrein Yarram, Victoria on 29th April[5]. They included songs from all three of their albums. Rogue Traders surprised many of their fans, playing their first top 10 single "One Of My Kind," a re-working of the INXS classic "Need You Tonight", but this time sung live by Natalie Bassingthwaighte[6]. They also perform a cover of Sinead O'Connor's hit "Nothing Compares To You"[7]. They played all the singles from Here Come The Drums and all but two songs, "8th Wonder of the World" and "The Price We Pay," from their current album, Better In The Dark. The band opened with Watching You, followed by Don't You Wanna Feel. The show ended with the most successful song, Voodoo Child, from their second album Here Come The Drums[8]. They played a total of 30 dates plus 6 soundcheck dates, spanning over 1½ months.

Costumes[edit]Natalie Bassingthwaighte took a different angle with the costumes for the bands 2nd national tour. For the first, the "We're Coming Home National Tour" she wore a sexy 'officer naughty' outfit, followed by the dress she wore in the Way To Go film clip, and lastly a sparkling gold number to finish. For the "Better In The Dark" tour, Natalie again took on three dresses. The first, a Black layered dress which she shimmied and shined in. Another little black dress was on the cards, this time with a silver pattern on the front. The last outfit, was a stunning purple dress, worn with a large black belt and black laced shoes. In an interview, Natalie described them as "some pretty cute frocks...but this show is more about being real"[12]. Pictures of all three frocks can be seen here:[13] [14][15] Sources[edit]http://www.roguetraders.com.au/newsEvents/home.do?newsId=20030829005379 http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?s=b063e279ac6a4fbb3c2fe86dc0d99e30&showtopic=4309 http://optusunder18s.com/ http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4295 http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4295&st=480 http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4295&st=520 http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4295&st=495 http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23682722-5006343,00.htm http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4295 http://wimmera.yourguide.com.au/news/local/news/entertainment/here-come-the-drums/767880.aspx http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4418 http://www.billboardnightclub.com/bbtv/gallery_single.asp?GigID=65 http://forums.roguetraders.com.au/index.php?showtopic=4419 220.239.159.131 (talk) 10:11, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prof. Sarukkai Krishnamachari Rangarajan (1932 - 2008) - fondly known as SKR[edit]Descriptions like brilliant, inspiring, humane, dedicated, though apt, are not adequate to portray Professor S. K. Rangarajan- either as a person or as a Scientist. Clarity in thought, ability to discern the essential from the details, urge to comprehend, correlate, unify and generalize are transparent in all his activities. In the area of electrochemical sciences, the main thrust of his approach is to bring electrochemistry back into mainstream of physical chemistry and chemical physics where it really belongs. His breadth of impact spans physics, electrochemistry, mathematics, and philosophy. He was also a avid writer and speaker very fond of poetry for inspiration.
…but the man was much more than what these signify.
Never bothered to obtain a Ph.D. though produced seven Doctorates … and most of them decorated with best thesis awards at IISc. For a major part of his career, he neither had a big team at his command nor funded projects at his disposal.
The Legend goes that Doss was looking for someone who knew Laplace Transforms and could solve non-stedy-state problem for the redoxo-kinetic effect. A popular article on Laplace transforms contributed by SKR to his Engineering College magazine caught Doss' attention. Doss came to know from B. A. Shenoi that SKR was his neighbour and came down to meet SKR at his residence. Thus began the famous Doss-SKR collaboration.
"Look, Rangarajan, this University is a great place and we have had many visiting us. They all got something from here. You are the only person to whom we didn't give anything but took everything."
On one of his scientific sessions with Doss, SKR had taken with him a file 'for Director's approval'; Doss said, 'You may send the file later, let us discuss science now'.

Background[edit]The Joint Consultative Council (JCC) is a network of service providers to micro, small and medium enterprises (SME) in Namibia. It started in 1995 as an informal forum for policy development and the exchange of ideas and practices in service provision. In 2000, it was incorporated as a Section 21 company to render support to policy makers and service providers. Over the years, JCC has become synonymous with support to the SME sector and has promoted it in multiple ways through policy advice and advocacy, studies, capacity building of service providers, recognition of innovation and SME business success and increasing SME access to business advice and services. Vision[edit]The JCC envisages a Namibia with a thriving SME sector, which realises its full potential with full economic participation to enhance equitable economic growth in Namibia. Mission Statement[edit]Through its network the JCC strives to shape the enabling business service environment and renders effective promotion and support to SME service providers and business initiatives. Objectives[edit]Further develop networking of SME service providers; Strengthening the capacity of SME service providers; Promote best practice examples amongst SME and SME service providers; Advocate at policy level in terms of an enabling SME environment; and Sourcing and dissemination information to service providers, SME's and other stakeholders; Promoting understanding of JCC's role in the SME sector. The Network[edit]In its network operation, JCC works together with public and private organisations that have an inherent interest in the growth of the SME sector. These service providers participate as network partners or subscribers. Network Partners are public and private organisations, agencies and businesses, which are indirectly engaged in developing the SME sector. Subscribers are individuals and firms that have SME service support as their core business. Together they shape the enabling business service environment and deliver effective and efficient services to the market. There are a range of agencies and organisations that provide business support services. These network partners include, but are not limited to: •Government Ministries •The Offshore Development Corporation of Namibia •Local Authorities •Regional Councils •Public and private vocational training centres •Institutions of Higher Education •Public Financial Institutions •Non-governmental and community based organisations and business representative organisations •Private and public financial institutions •Businesses •International development partners Operations[edit]The main role of JCC is that of facilitation to ensure that network partners and subscribers are effective channels of service delivery to the market. JCC programmes and services include: Listing: Network partners and subscribers are listed on the website and service providers’ directory, both of which are constantly updated. Listing of programmes and services of public service providers and non-governmental organisations is free of charge, whereas businesses and business development consultants pay an annual subscription fee. The fee depends on whether the listing involves only the name and contact details or provides in addition promotion and marketing of the services offered. Information: JCC functions as a store of information related to SME service provision, its availability, access, quality, gaps, trends and challenges. The main tools for information dissemination to network partners and subscribers and ultimate beneficiaries (SME) are the Internet (website and email) and advisory services. Referrals: Most network partners rely on external expertise and services to implement their respective programmes. JCC has an effective referral system between network partners and subscribers and advises on the type of intervention that may be the most suitable. Agency: JCC promotes and supports the Enterprise Development and Business Support Service Programme of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Partnerships: JCC facilitates the establishment of partnerships between private and public service providers to pool resources. It creates awareness among Local Authorities and Regional Councils about the roles and functions they have in growing the small business sector at local level, to promote and facilitate the practice of partnership between stakeholders in the support of the small business sector and to enable them to become active network partners of JCC and establish efficient and sustainable small business information and support units. Studies: JCC undertakes a range of studies related to the SME support environment and disseminates the outcome. Capacity building: JCC promotes best practice approaches in service delivery and organises capacity building interventions to be undertaken with expertise within the network and through JCC’s partnerships with international development partners. Networking through fora and events: These provide the opportunity for network partners and subscribers to meet, socialise and exchange ideas and practices. JCC organises task-teams to discuss pertinent issues related to service provision and uses the outcome of these meetings for the purpose of advocacy. Annual symposia coincide with the AGM and provide network partners and subscribers with the opportunity to benefit from presentations and working groups. Plot: The short starts at a French Foreign Legion post in the Sahara desert. Within minutes, we are introduced to the regiments mascot (Penelope Pussycat) and Pepe enters the recruitment office, saying that he is "ze broken 'eart of love" and he wishes to join the Foreign Legion so he can forget. The recruitment officer gets one whiff of his scent and runs out, with the entire post following him. Pepe thinks they have recruited him so he can defend the fort. He begins patrolling. Meanwhile, Penelope, not aware the fort has been abandoned, wakes up from a nap and rubs her back against a ladder that has been painted white, giving her a white stripe down her back. Pepe sees her and, mistaking her for a skunk, begins to amorously chase her. She eventually runs out of the fort and into the desert to an oasis, where she faints from exhaustion and the sight of Pepe. Pepe carries her into a tent and decides that it is time to "restock ze furnace of love." He looks over a wall of perfumes and colognes, and, being unable to decide which one he wants, sprays himself with a mixture of all of them. Penelope wakes up in an explosion of hearts and quickly captures Pepe in her arms and begins smothering him with kisses. A terrified Pepe manages to wriggle out of her arms and runs away, asking the audience, "Why is it that when a man is captured by a woman, all he wants to do is get away?" Nataraj XT also called NXT, is a French Indian Electronic Live Trio, Formed in Marseille France in 1999. The band is now only formed by Philippe Capitani (Kapi), Pierre Grimoud (Sitar) died in 2005 and Richard Bernet (Rishi) leave the band to form a new one called Jugal Bandi. Band Biography[edit]Once upon a time...Richard Bernet and Pierre Moitram, both inspired and nurtured by twenty years practice of North Indian music improvisation, met Kapi. In july 1999, they decided to create the group Natarajxt. Masters in the art of improvisation, they developed an exclusive approach to fusing musics. Based mostly on improvisation (some general structures are described ahead). the trio combine traditional modalities and electronic textures. Their concept is unique in France and remains novative in India. The pleasure they find in playing together is repeated at each concert. Nataraj, rejecting all forms of intellectualizing, demonstrate that their music is the beginning of a new journey each time they take the stage. Members[edit]Philippe Capitani (kapi/DJ K314/Philipp De Mont Redon) started to learn music by taking piano lessons in 1979. His teacher was a former Professor who used to teach at the Conservatory in Marseille, France. He has always had a passion for all kinds of musical instruments and computers. He taught himself how to play the guitar, bass, drums and percussion instruments. Furthermore, he did not only focus on a single musical trend, but on several, such as rock/pop, jazz/blues, or ragga/reggae, for instance. In 1990, he met the guitarist from the band "Coup d'etat" with whom he created the band "Aproche". That pop/rock band gave birth to a whole CD. In 1995, he became the drummer of the band "Venus Anadyomene", a funk/rock band with which he toured in Marseille, France, for a couple of years. In 1999, he met the band "Nataraj", a traditional Indian music band. With his addition to the band as a techno music player, the band Nataraj-XT was born, spreading live Indian-techno music anywhere… Actually he's learning Tablas with Laurent Gherzi from Duo Saaj Tablist.
On stage Instruments : Rm1x,Akaï sampler,Tablas. Richard Bernet (Rishi) started Sarod in 1972 when he attended Ali Akbar Khan Music College in California . There he fell in love with the feeling of these sounds. He then decided to travel to India, digging deeper into the knowledge of this ancient culture. Returning to France, he worked with the group ORIGINE (concert, dance creation..) Beginning in 1996, he played with the LAL GANESH trio. One year later, he joined the group Massilia Sound System for the recording of the album "Aïollywood" followed by 50 tour dates throughout France. The success of his first taste of music fusion encouraged him to renew the experience. And he did just that in 1998 with the mystic rock group " Night in Soho" on their CD "Reminiscences". At the end of 98, Richie appears with NatarajXT at "L'Espace Julien", in Marseille with DJ Big Buddha.

Sources[edit]Ninja Tune presents Counter Records For 16 years we've held steadfast to our label mission of bringing the finest in electronic / hip-hop / jazz / etc.. to the homes and clubs. We've seen the cycle of trends turn over four or five times in all the different territories we deal with. We've been hip, then not-hip, then hip again many times over depending on what the cannon of press and popular underground opinion happens to be clocking at that moment. And all the while we really didn't give a shit what people were thinking/buying and just kept putting out what we believed to be excellent in our field. 83.67.32.106 (talk) 18:32, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You start by clicking on the random article button, then attempt to get to the Wikipedia article on Adolf Hitler by following any of the links in the article. You should usually be able to get to it from anything within five links, trust me its surprising how easy it actually is. Although, as far as I know this game started with Hitler, theres no reason you cant play it with any other subject. Just decide what you want to end at, click random article and go for it. Some subjects might be significantly more difficult, so I would suggest choosing something well known and important, or there may be very few ways of getting to it making the game extreamly difficult. This is a perfect game to play at school because if a teacher sees your screen, youre on Wikipedia, so it looks like work! I hope you enjoy this as much as I have, its a great time killer. Sources[edit]I heared about this from a freind.
