Oscar R. Burkard (December 21, 1877 – February 18, 1950) was a German-American soldier who served in the US Army during the Indian Wars and World War I. In 1898, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of Sugar Point. Aside from being the only non-combatant to be decorated from that engagement, Burkard was also the man to receive the medal during the Indian Wars. [1] [2] [3] Biography[edit]Born in Achern, Germany, he immigrated to the United States in 1895 and eventually enlisted in the military at Hay Creek, Minnesota. Assigned to the 3rd U.S. Infantry at Fort Snelling, he served as a private in the Hospital Corps and was present as an acting hospital steward at the Battle of Sugar Point on October 5, 1898. During the battle, he rescued several soldiers while under heavy fire from the Pillagers and continued to do so throughout the day. He was later awarded the Medal of Honor "for distinguished bravery in action against hostile Indians" and officially received the award on August 21, 1899. Susanne Hartel (born 2 February, 1988 in Mannheim) is a German football player. Career[edit]Club football[edit]She started her career in the age of three years at MFC 08 Lindenhof. 2002 – she already played for the squad of the “Badischer Fußballverband” (Football association of Baden) – she had to change the club because the DFB does not allow girls to play together with the boys if they are older then 14 years and her current club had no girl’s team at that time. She joined Viktoria Neckarhausen where she stayed for one and a half years. In 2003, the striker changed to 1. FFC Frankfurt. Playing for the junior team until she became 16, she played for the first team in the Bundesliga, the German Cup and also the UEFA Women's Cup. In 2007, she joined the SC Freiburg where she got a place in the Starting Eleven immediately. Honours:
National team[edit]She made her first cap in the jersey of the german national under-15 team for which she played twice. After that, she scored two goals in two caps for the under-17 team. For the under-19 team, with which she became European Champion in 2007, she played twelve times and scored four goals. Her most important goal was the pre-deciding 3-2 in the extra time of the championship’s semi-final against the french team, which the german squad won 4-2 in the end. Acutally, she belongs to the german under-20 and the under-23 team, for which she made three games and scored one goal up to now. Today it is located in the state of Chhattisgarh. It had an area of 357 km² and, in 1892, a population of 22,819 inhabitants. Its rulers were Hindu and had a privy purse of 29,000 rupees. The princely state acceded to the Indian Union on the January 1, 1948 thus ceased to exist. The last ruler was Rana Bahadur Leeladhar Singh, born on February 3, 1892 and succeeded as new rana on the 4th of July, 1914. The princely family still exists today and is headed by Rana Surender Bahadur Singh, who represented India in their hockey team and was twice a minister for the government of the State of Madhya Pradesh.

Kim Iverson is an American radio personality best known as the host of Entercom owned nationally syndicated radio program, Your Time with Kim Iverson, heard on many radio stations across the country. She is one of few notable women to have achieved national syndication in the radio broadcast industry. Kim was born March 28, 1980 in Boise, Idaho and is currently based in Austin, TX.

In the tenth century in Japan a new school of archery was formed called the Ogasawara School. It required not only chivalrous and warmheartedness towards opponents, but "right" behavior. The archer was meant to let go of his arrow thoughtlessly to insure its proper path.It was influential on Zen buddhism. The school degenerated over the centuries into a high-class etiquette tradition, but was revived in the [19th century?] and is now being practiced with more inner awareness of its goals [what goals?]. Daniel Jacob Shapiro (born August 17, 1975) is the founder and CEO of mobile software company Ontela, Inc.[1] Shapiro earned a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College in 1997. After graduation, he worked for five years as a program manager at Microsoft Corp. in the Windows division where he worked on a number of technologies including the Device Bay standard[2], Windows 2000 storage management, and the Windows XP Powertoys. He then joined Wildseed, Ltd.[3] where he managed the development of the software for the "Identity" phone from 2001-2004. Shapiro then started working at Realnetworks as the group manager for the RealArcade service[4]. In 2005, Shapiro co-founded Ontela, Inc.[5] along with Charles Zapata and Brian Schultz. Shapiro is listed as an inventor on five US patents[6] [7] [8] [9] [10], and lives in Redmond, WA.
