William Allen (1836-January 8, 1892) was a US Army officer who fought during the Indian Wars duiring the post-American Civil War period. Serving under Lieutenant Colonel George Crook, he participated in expeditions against the Apache in the Arizona Territory throughout the 1870s. He was one of four men who recieved the Congressional Medal of Honor against the Yavapai Apaches during the Battle of Turret Peak in 1873. Biography[edit]Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or Brightstown, New York, he enlisted in the US Army at Lansingburg and assigned to the 23rd U.S. Infantry. Eventually reaching the rank of first sergeant, he was part of the Lieutenant Colonel George Crook's campaign against the Apache during the early 1870s. On March 27, 1873, he took part in a major engagement against the Yavapai Apaches at Turret Peak, Arizona, only 20 miles south of Camp Verde. He, along with Captain George M. Randall, led a successful surprise attack against the enemy and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for "gallantry in action" for his efforts. [1] He officially received the medal on April 12, 1875, two years after the battle. Eventually retiring from military service at the rank of second lieutenant, he died in San Francisco, California on January 8, 1892 and buried in the San Francisco National Cemetery. The Planet of Hell is a game that will be developed by Capcom. A website that a Capcom employee has made confirms that the game will be made, and will come out some time in 2009. The game was at first speculation, but the creator of the website, whose name is Anthony, said the CEO of Capcom liked the idea of this game. All that is known until April is that it will be non-linear, with numerous missions in each level. You will control a character named Luther, and the game will likley be called The Planet of Hell. Middlesex Community College (also known as MxCC) is a public community college in Middletown, Connecticut. As measured by enrollment it is the eighth-largest of the twelve colleges in the Connecticut Community Colleges system.[1] The school has an open admissions policy. MxCC has about 3,900 full- and part-time students enrolled. It is a commuter school with no dormitories. Manchester Community College in Manchester, Capital Community College in Hartford and Gateway Community College in New Haven are the nearest of the state's other community colleges.[2] The Jean Burr Smith Library in Chapman Hall subscribes to 142 periodicals, along with various audiovisual materials including more than 900 DVDs.[3][4] Along with credit and non credit certificates, the college grants Associate's degrees. Dr. Wilfredo Nieves is president of the school.[5] Programs[edit]MxCC runs a Center for Business and Industry Services (CBIS), which is one of the original centers in the statewide Business and Industry Services Network (BISN). The CBIS provides companies throughout Middlesex County as well as the Meriden and Wallingoford areas with customized training and instructional services. History[edit]The Middlesex Community College was founded in 1966 as a branch campus of Manchester Community College. MxCC became an independent community college in 1968. Initially the college operated in space rented from the Middletown Public School district and loaned by the Connecticut Valley Hospital. In 1973 the college moved to its present 38 acre campus overlooking the Connecticut River Valley in Middletown, Connecticut. In 1998 a branch was opened in Meriden Instruction also takes place in Old Saybrook to make college accessible to students along the central Connecticut coast.[5][6] Campus[edit]There are three distinct campuses in the Middlesex Community College. Main Campus (Middletown)[edit]The College's main campus is in Middleton at 100 Training Hill Road (approximately a mile and a half from the center of Middletown) and includes four main buildings: Snow, Wheaton, Founder's, and Chapman Halls. Within the Halls are: classrooms, a computer center, art studios, a broadcast communications center, chemistry and biology laboratories, a learning laboratory for reading and writing, an ophthalmic design and dispensing laboratory, faculty and administrative offices, cafeteria, bookstore, and the library. There is also an extensive child daycare facility. [6] Meriden Center[edit]In 2004 Middlesex opened a new learning site at 55 West Main Street, in Meriden, Connecticut. Credit, non-credit, day, evening, weekend, and only learning are available from the Meriden Center.[6] Shoreline[edit]Credit and non-credit courses are also offered in Old Saybrook and Clinton. In Old Saybrook the High School at 1111 Boston Post Road is often used to hold classes.[6] Extracurricular activities[edit]The Beta Gamma Xi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (the academic honor society for two-year colleges) is active at MxCCC. Active clubs on campus include the Human Services Student Association (HSSA) and the SPECS (Ophthalmic Design & Dispensing Club). There is also an active student government body, the MxCCC Student Senate.[7] Sources[edit]References[edit]

With the backup of the NTB Government and various local business associations, the paper became a prime, independent and non political source for local news. Eventhough the name of the paper clearly states the name of the island of Lombok, the publication covers both provinces both in news coverage and readership. The Lombok Times began publication on November 2003 from a small office in the capital of Lombok, Mataram, with an initial circulation of 1,500 copies. Since the first publication, it has been the largest provincial newspaper in the the provinces Bali and NTB. In 2005, its circulation reached 5,000 copies, to grow into a 15,000 copies in 2008. With distribution on various airlines, hotels and touristical areas, readership reaches above 50,000 per issue. He is based in London, England where he has been teaching since 1975. He is now the only student of Yip Man teaching in Europe and has branches in Italy, Belgium, Luxemburg and Hong Kong. He keeps the highest standards of authenticity and insists on teaching Ving Tsun in the classical way just as Yip Man taught him. The purity is 99%, no more and no less. So it can be passed on as authentically as possible to the next generation. The classical way is the best and the only way to learn Ving Tsun properly. The effectiveness is superior compared to the modified and the other imitations of Ving Tsun. Simply because in the old days the practitioners relied completely on their kung fu skills to protect their own lives. The effectiveness of Classical Ving Tsun kung fu is such that one can even invent a new style of kung fu based on Classical Ving Tsun - just like the late BRUCE LEE.
At a London seminar that was held by Ip Ching and Ip Chun, the sons of the late G.M. Ip Man, Ip Ching stated publicly to the audience that his father thought G.M. Victor Kan (Kan Wah Chit) was his best student and should be the one with whom they should continue studying after he passed away. On hearing this, G.M. Kan was visibly moved.
The Late G.M. Wong Sheun Leung (Bruce Lee's primary teacher) also said about G.M. Kan in a 1978 issue of 'Secrets of Kung Fu' Magazine. "When I write this article, I do not expect any money as an author, nor have I received any gift from Mr. Victor Kan. Only I do not want to see a man of true talent left unkown by the people. Any man of true worth should be presented to society so that people who are learning the Ving Tsun style will not kneel to the wrong teacher. It should be good news to those students who wish to learn the Ving Tsun style."
William Cheung once told his brother in Hong Kong from Austrailia at the end of the 1950's: "If you want to be really good in chi-sao, the only person you can go to practice with is Victor Kan". * YIP Man was semi-retired at that time. Victor Kan was his assistant. * Sources[edit]http://www.vingtsunvk.com/ http://www.wcarchive.com/html/sifus/wing-chun-sifus-v.htm 62.166.231.194 (talk) 15:23, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. Who is that who can intercede with Him but with His permission (Q. 2 –255) It means intercession is allowed with God, but only by those who are authorized or who earn the title to it by their unique virtues. Who else could be more entitled to this divine grace and unique privilege than the Apostle of God and his Ahlul-beit. The point is that the one who sincerely seeks to know the truth, a straight answer with simplistic logic will certainly suffice. But to one who wants to go on arguing merely for arguments sake, even the Apostle of God could not satisfy. On the day of judgement no intercession shall avail, except of him the Beneficent Lord allows and whose words He (GOD) is pleased with (20- 109) The above verses are too clear to create any doubt against dear ones, to the Lord having authority from Him to intercede. Similar verses about intercession being allowed to particular ones are there e.g.: They shall not own intercession. , save he who has covenanted with the Beneficent God (Q. 19 –87) It is made clear here that redemption or intercession is a fact but reserved for only those who earned covenant with Lord to do it. Intercession means to approach Him can be none other than by the Holy Prophet and those God commission to be his successors. The Prophet declared to liken of “My Household “is like Ark of Noah, whoever gets into it is saved and whoever stayed away from it is drowned. God himself enjoins man to seek medium unto him: Ye who believe! Fear God and seek the means of approach unto him (Q. 5- 35) Many Sunni Ulema like Hafidh Bu Nu’aim Isfahani in his “Nuzulul Qura’an Fi Ali, Hafidh Abu Baakr Shirazi in his “ Maa Nazala Qura’an Fi Ali, Hafidh Abu Tha’labi in his “Tafsir “ say that “ Wasila “ (means of approach) in the above verse means the descendants of the Holy Prophet. All in all, not knowing the difference between “Mawaddat “(i.e. love or Friendship) and “Uboodiyaaah “(i.e. worship) it has been necessary to seek clarification. “Mawaddat “practiced by those attached to Ahlul – Bait has always been represented as “Ubooodiyah”, just to condemn attachment to the Holy Ones as “Shirk” (polytheism) whereas only the devotees of the Aahlul – Bait are Muslims in the true and strict sense of the term as they worship none but the One and only one true God and love the Prophet and his Household and remain devoted too them under the divine ordinance. “Say unto people; O Apostle Muhammad! I seek not of you any “Ajr” (compensation) for it (the service of Apostleship) save love of my relatives. (Q. 42 –43) Under above ordinance from the Lord, none who does not pay the Holy Prophet the “Ajr” in love and devotion to the Ahlul –Bait demanded by Him can never be a Muslim at all. In short, Mawaddaat is purposely termed as “Uboodiyah” to blackmail his followers. The critics brand the Shias as “Mushrriqeen” since the latter seek intercession of the Holy Prophet and his Household. The misleading question which the critics raise, in that way should not seek the help he needs direct to God? This question itself has an answer that when such devotees of God (The critics) get ill, why do go to the doctor? Why not depend on God for the cure and avoids means of the doctor, when the doctor is not the actual curer. The great French surgeon Abross Pare once said, ‘I apply the dressing but God heals the wound. No, they do it because they have to seek a means or a medium and they do it because they cannot avoid it. Sources[edit]www.shiasearch.com 117.98.32.232 (talk) 15:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With the help of The Wrens, the band signed with Misra Records in 2007 and released their first nationally distributed album, "A Wheel Within A Wheel," later that year. "The Engine" has played both the CMJ and South By Southwest Music Festivals. History[edit]Southeast Engine was formed in 2000 by Adam "Rem" Remnant (lead vocals, guitar) and Leo DeLuca (drum kit, percussion). Both attended the same high school in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in "The Gem City" during its musical hay day of the 1990s. Underground bands like Guided By Voices, Brainiac, and Swearing At Motorists made significant and long-standing impressions upon the two youngsters. Around 2000, the pair moved to Athens, Ohio and were equally inspired by the Appalachian old-timey and folk music of the area. Thus, Southeast Engine is a unique hybrid of the Dayton, Ohio musical underground and the Athens, Ohio folk scene. Michael Lachman (keyboards, Wandering Genie) began playing with the band soon after its formation. The three are now joined by [Jesse Remnant] (Adam's younger brother) on bass guitar. Josh Antonuccio played on, engineered, and helped produce their last two records at 3 Elliott Studio in Athens, Ohio. The Wrens (Absolutely Kosher Records) have been pivotal to Southeast Engine's progression. The two bands played together for the first time in 2005. Charles Bissell, songwriter for The Wrens, really took to Southeast Engine's music and lead the band to Cory Brown of Absolutely Kosher and Misra Records.
