The group, known as Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis, publishes 31 community newspapers, the Ladue News and St. Louis' Best Bridal magazine. The chain reaches 637,000 households.[1] Publications are grouped in regional offices, each with its own editor, in Town and Country, Mo.; Collinsville, Ill.; Festus, Mo.; Columbia, Ill.; St. Peters, Mo.; Warrenton, Mo.; and two in St. Louis. The newspapers are independent of the Lee-owned St. Louis Post Dispatch, but do share some resources, such a technical assistance. The companies, which were both previously owned by Pulitzer Inc., also share a common website, stltoday.com. The chain's main competition is the Post-Dispatch and community-focused Webster-Kirkwood Times and South County Times [[2]] in Missouri and Alton Telegraph and [Belleville News Democrat] in Illinois. Notable staff[edit]Steve Pokin, a reporter and columnist for the St. Charles Journal, in November 2007 broke the story of Megan Meier, a Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, teen who committed suicide after being scorned by a fictitious friend on the social networking site MySpace.[4] Todd Smith, a reporter for the Kirkwood-Webster Journal, was shot in the hand during the February 2008 shooting inside City Hall in Kirkwood, Mo.[5] History[edit]Most of the publications currently owned by Suburban Journals date back to the early 1900s as independent newspapers. Many were in direct competition with one another. In the early 1980s, several of the newspapers were bought by Ingersoll Publications Co., a firm headed by Ralph Ingersoll II, whose father lead the innovative PM newspaper in 1940s New York City. [6] Ingersoll, who wanted to compete with the Post Dispatch and now defunct St. Louis Globe-Democrat] used high-risk junk bonds to finance his acquisitions. [7] Ingersoll, who considered starting a St. Louis daily with the closure of the Globe, in 1990 was bought out by his partner and financier, E.M. Warburg, Pincus & Co., which formed a the Journal Register Co., the owner of 25 daily newspapers, including the New Haven Register and Alton Telegraph. The chain became the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis.[8] In 1997, it bought the Ladue News.[9] The company in 1999 had revenues of $151 million.[10] Pulitzer, which owned the Post Dispatch and 11 other daily newspapers, in June 2000 bought the company, which then had 38 papers.[11] It cost $165 million.[12]] Pulitzer then sold the group to Lee in summer 2005 for $1.46 billion.[13] Sources[edit]

William "Bill" Scandling (June 17, 1922-August 22, 2005) was an American businessman and philanthropist who was one of the founders of Saga corporation. Mr. Scandling grew up in Rochester, New York and attended several Rochester area high schools, graduating from Brighton High School in 1940[1]. He started work as a salesman for a Men's Clothier spending some time travelling through the midwest. He was called to military service in July of 1942 and served in the Pacific theater for the Army Air Forces during World War II. In his military service he eventually rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant working for the Army Airways Communication System [2]. At the close of the war Scandling enrolled at Hobart College with financial support from the G.I. Bill. In 1948 Scandling, along with fellow veteran-classmates Harry W. Anderson and W. P. Laughlin, took over operation of the Hobart dining hall which had been nearing bankruptcy. The following year they started providing dining services for William Smith College. Scandling graduated from Hobart in 1949 with a degree on Economics. He and his partners continued to operate their cafeteria business and incorporated it in the lates 1940s. After learning that Geneva was built on an old Native American village called Kanadasaga, it was decided that Saga Corporation would be a fitting name for the new company. In the summer of 1952 Saga opened operations at their third account at Kalamazoo College [2]. In 1962 Saga's national headquarters opened in Menlo Park, California. In 1968 Saga went public, offering 321,000 shares of common stock. By 1970 Saga was serving meals to hospitals and retirement communities in addition to college cafeterias and was also operating its first two restaurant chains Black Angus and Velvet Turtle. By 1973 Saga was serving more than 400,000,000 meals a year. Other restaurant chains operated by Saga included Straw Hat Pizza and MacArthur Park. In 1986, Scandling and his partners sold Saga to Marriott Corporation in a hostile takeover. Despite the sale Scandling had opposed the takeover and wrote about it in a 1994 book The Saga of Saga: the Life and Death of an American Dream [3]. Scandling's first wife Margaret Warner Scandling died in 1990. In 1995 Scandling married Yvette Farquharson-Oliver. The Scandling's had a son named Michael and resided in Atherton, California. William Scandling died August 22 2005 in Montreal at the age of 83. Philanthropy[edit]He served on the Board of Trustees for Hobart and William Smith Colleges for 20 years and was the chairman for 11 from 1972-1983. In 1984, the Scandling Student Center at Hobart and William Smith Colleges was named to honor Scandling's generous philanthropic commitment to the Colleges. The Colleges' 65 foot research vessel was renamed from HWS Explorer to William F. Scandling in his honor [4][5]. In 2003, Scandling made the largest gift in the history of Hobart and William Smith Colleges ($15 million) [2]. The Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester was named in 1993 to honor the memory and legacy of his late wife, Margaret Warner Scandling. Mr. Scandling made gifts over the years totaling more than $14 million to the Warner School. [6]. In addition to Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and the University of Rochester, Mr. Scandling was a major contributor to Johns Hopkins University, Deep Springs College, the Salk Institute, and Northern Arizona University [7]. He also contributed to many community-based organizations and causes [8] [9] [10]. Scandling was a member of many professional societies. R.E.D.[edit]R.E.D. is video game being developed by AXBH Studios and directed by creator Brian S. The game is set for 2018 release due to there being only 5 people working on the game. Kinomi was a homeless girl Righ found on the streets when she was 14, she currently lives with Righ in his appartment. Trey: Righ's friend. Trey is one of Righ's childhood friends at his school and understands him better than anyone, Trey currently lives with his mom, dad, and sister. Megane Kinomi's friend. Megane is a japanese girl who's moved to America due to her dislike of Japan's overpopullation. Antagonists Lu: Killer of Righ's parents. Lu is a 7"2 tall man that Righ sets off to kill causing the events of R.E.D. Creatures/Underlings[edit]Gerogero: Lu's underlings. Gerogero's are awkward disgusting little creatures that attack Righ from out of nowhere and are Lu's weakest of underlings. Akatonbo: Lu's underlings. Akatonbo are little pests that when enough gather around that turn into a red replica of Righ but are easy to defeat. In 2004 CeSViMa is created by the Technical University of Madrid and CIEMAT. The aim of the center is to provide computation resources to the researchers of Madrid. IBM provides the supercomputer in the center that is called Magerit, the acient name of Madrid. The center also has a interactive 3D visualization infraestructure and a terrestial scanner. The Spanish Supercomputing Network is created in 2007 with CeSViMa as a member. Sources[edit]

Nowadays, the network is composed by seven supercomputers:
History[edit]Spanish Supercomputing Network is created in March, 2007 to increase the needs of computing resources in Spain. To achieve this, Magerit and Marenostrum supercomputers were upgraded and the old nodes from Marenostrum supercomputer were used to create five nodes (Altamira, CesarAugusta, LaPalma, Picasso, Tirant) of the network. Use of the resorces[edit]A Access Committee (44 researches who valorates the importance of each project) contols the access to the computing resources: - Every researcher, who wants to use the network, must send a project to the Access Committee - All projects is evaluated by the access committee. - Best projects are accepted. The committee asigns several resources of several supercomputing during 4 months. If one project needs more computing resources, the leader of the project can ask for resources in the next 4 months period. Each institution controls the 20% of the resources of its node. CeSViMa controls about 40% of the computer resources of Magerit due to the nodes owned by the Technical University of Madrid.

Az F alaprajzú épület déli és keleti szárnya emeletes, északi keresztszárnya földszintes, ezek határolják a kőmellvéddel elzárt díszudvart. A kastély legkarakterisztikusabb része a park felé néző keleti oldal főhomlokzata, mely középen loggiával és Károlyi Ede által tervezett nyolcszög alaprajzú, vékony, magas toronnyal van ellátva. Az északi szárny különlegessége az apszisos nagyterem. Az 1897-1907 között újjáépült déli szárny földszintjén impozáns tereket alakítottak ki. Az udvari oldalon helyezkedik el a hosszú, földszinti terem, az ún. márványfolyosó, melynek terét kannelúrázott pilaszterek hordozta gipszrabic boltozat fedi. Innen nyílik a teknőboltozatos nagy szalon, térelválasztó elemként két nagy csavart vörösmárvány oszlop szolgál. A déli szárnyban helyezkedtek el a grófi lakószobák. Az északi keresztszárny egyetlen nagy terme a télikert volt, ennek folytatásában helyezték el a kastély lakóinak ellátását szolgáló helyiségeket. A keleti homlokzat loggiájának emeletét később beüvegezték, így az épület ezen része zártabb lett. A déli szárny termeiben bútorokat helyeztek el, jelenleg múzeumként üzemel. A radványi kastély belsőépítészeti kialakítása 1898-tól vett lendületet, amikor Károlyi László és felesége, gróf Apponyi Franciska antik és értékes tárgyak szisztematikus gyűjtésébe kezdett a kastély számára. A grófi házaspár évekig járta az itáliai műkereskedéseket, azzal a céllal, hogy igazi reneszánsz otthont alakítsanak ki a radványi kastélyban. A vásárlások mellett a hajdani Rákóczi-javakból is kerültek tárgyak a füzérradványi enteriőrökbe. A földszint neoreneszánsz jellegű márványfolyosóján reneszánsz asztalokat, faragott, bőrrel, textillel kárpitozott, változatos kialakítású székeket helyeztek el. Kandalló majdnem minden szobában volt. A kastély berendezését reneszánsz szekrények, keleti szőnyegek, kőfaragványok, aranyozott tükrök, ágyak, csillárok, agancsok, állatbőrök, családi képek mellett számos különleges tárgy gazdagította. A kastély berendezésének egy része elkallódott, de néhány megmaradt kiváló darab 1949-ben Sárospatakra került, jelenleg a sárospataki Rákóczi Múzeum gyűjteményében látható. A kastély körüli, erdőből kialakított park 1975 óta természetvédelmi terület, csodálatos arborétum. Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén megye legszebb és legnagyobb parkja. Az 1930-as évek végéig Európa szerte híres park volt, utána azonban a feledés homályába merült. A park kialakulása hosszú időre nyúlik vissza. A XIX. század közepén, az addigi gyümölcsöskertből angol stílusú parkot alakítottak ki. A XIX. század végén egy Paradeiser nevű német kertész gondozta a parkot. 1906-ban Zinke Ferenc vette át a parképítés irányítását. Zinke az angol parképítési stílust kedvelte. Nagy kiterjedésű tisztásokat alakított ki, melyeket hálózatba ültetett ligetes facsoportok törtek meg. A kertészetnek külön melegháza is volt, melyben a virágágyásokba való növényeket nemesítették. A fa és cserjefajokat úgy válogatták össze, hogy az év minden szakaszában esztétikai élményt nyújtsanak. Külön ékességként szolgált a két tó, a kisebbiket a kastély szállóvá alakításakor fürdőmedencévé építették át, fehér és kék színű csempével. A nagyobb tavat egykor "Halastónak" nevezték. A tavakat sétaút vette körül, a víztükrön vízimadarak találtak maguknak otthont. A park madár-és állatvilága is igen gazdag volt. Zinke Ferenc 1947-ig gondozta a parkot, ezután a növényzet egy része elvadult, a távoli kilátást biztosító nyiladékok benőttek. A nagy tó ma mocsaras terület. Az ötvenes évektől a tisztásokat beültették kisebb facsoportokkal, így megtört a park harmóniája, szellőssége. A védelem alatt álló 140 ha park területéből ma a kastélyhoz tartozó, elkerített rész 15 ha. A kastély építéstörténete[edit]thumb|200px|A kastély berendezése thumb|200px|Az épület nyugati homlokzata Az írott forrásokban 1670-től szerepel a kastély. Egy 1700 körüli ábrázolás és leírás, valamint egy 1717-ből származó épületleírás alapján kaphatunk a kastély XVII. századi előzményiről tájékoztatást. A rajzon látható épület téglalap alaprajzú volt, négy sarkán bástyaszerű tornyokkal. A téglalap alaprajzon belül két szárnyból álló L alakú épület látható, amely a mai napig meghatározza a kastély tömegelrendezését. A két szárny által közrezárt és fallal kerített belső udvar bejárata a beépítetlen rövidebb oldalon látható. A források alapján tehát a füzérradványi kastély a XVII-XVIII. század fordulóján szabályos alaprajzú, későreneszánsz hagyományokat tükröző építmény volt. Kapuja előtt külső udvar volt, két oldalán gazdasági melléképületekkel, körülötte kerttel. Ez a kastélyforma Magyarországon a XVI. század végétől terjedt el, az Itáliából származó négysarokbástyás típus egyszerűsített változata. Adatok hiányában azonban az építés ideje nem határozható meg. A birtokot és az épületet 1686-ban adományozta a király Károlyi Lászlónak, azonban a Károlyi család egészen a XIX. század közepéig csak gazdasági célokat szolgáló uradalmi központként működtette azt. 1752-ben terv készült a kastély átépítésére, ebből azonban nem valósult meg semmi. 1754-ben a kastélyt Péchy Istvánnak (Boldogkőváralja kastélya építtetőjének) adják bérbe, aki nagy átépítésbe fog. A kastély új falai a régi alapokra épültek, azonban az átépítés érdemben nem határozható meg. A kastély egészen a XIX. század közepéig jelentéktelen vidéki kúriaként működött. Károlyi István fia, Ede építkezései nyomán vált nagyszabású kastélyépületté, mely a gazdasági célok helyett már elsősorban a reprezentációt szolgálta. A radványi kastély építése két évtizeden keresztül több szakaszban folyt. A tervező építész Ybl Miklós, aki Károlyi Ede apjának uradalmi építésze volt. A kastélyt Ede 1860 és 1877 között építtette. Az örökölt reneszánsz kastélyt erősen átalakította. A mai F alakú kastély az ő nevéhez fűződik. Az F felső részében kialakított U alakú díszudvar az eredeti, L alakú kastély tömegének télikerttel és kápolnával kiegészített kompozíciójából alakult. Az F szára foglalta magába a kastély konyháját és a személyzeti részt. Természetesen sokban eltér a mai állapot Ybl tervétől, lévén Károlyi Ede, mint műkedvelő építész azt többször módosíttatta. Károlyi Ede nem sokáig élvezhette átépített kastélyát, két évvel annak befejezése után, 1879-ben meghalt. Fia, László örökölte a kastélyt, aki a századfordulón jelentős átalakításokat végeztetett az épületen. Ez az építkezés az épület belsejére is kiterjedt. Legjelentősebbek az ajtókeretek, a kandallók beépítése és a szobák pazar berendezése. 1898-ban [[|Firenze|Firenzéből]] vásárolnak reneszánsz és korabarokk kőfaragványokat, bútorokat és textíliákat, melyeket el is helyeznek a kastélyban. Így válik a kastély a reneszánsz iránti érdeklődés otthonává. Az átépítés tervezője feltehetőleg a milánói születésű Alberto Pio lehetett. Az átépítés elsősorban az épület déli részét érintette, úgy, hogy tömegében követte elődjét, az Ybl-féle épületet. A déli szárny földszintjén néhány impozáns teret alakítottak ki. Az udvari oldalon létrehozták a hosszú, ún. márványfolyosót, mely a fekete-fehér-vörös márványpadozatáról kapta a nevét. Az innen nyíló nagy szalonban két csavart vörösmárvány oszlopot helyeztek el. Károlyi László élete végén visszaköltözött a család fóti birtokára, a kastély hasznosítását István nevű fiára és annak feleségére, Windischgrätz Mária Magdolnára bízta, aki luxusszállóvá alakíttatta a használaton kívüli, jól felszerelt kastélyt. Az előkészületeket követően – áramot vezetnek a kastélyba, minimális, de szükséges átalakításokat végeznek – 1938. május 8-án nyílt meg a Kastélyszálló. Az intézmény sikeresen működött, és a lillafüredi Palotaszállóhoz hasonló népszerűségre tett szert. A kastélypark kialakulása hosszú időre nyúlik vissza. A XIX. század közepén, az addigi gyümölcsöskertből angol stílusú parkot alakítottak ki. A XIX. század végén egy Paradeiser nevű német kertész gondozta a parkot. 1906-ban Zinke Ferenc vette át a parképítés irányítását, 1947-ig gondozta a parkot, ezután a növényzet egy része elvadult. Az ötvenes évektől a tisztásokat beültették kisebb facsoportokkal, így megtört a park harmóniája, szellőssége. A kastélyt 1945-ben államosították, de Károlyi István visszavásárolta a család vidéki otthonát. 1948-ban azonban végleg állami tulajdonba került, TBC szanatóriummá alakították. Sajnos a II. világháború után az épületeket átalakították, megcsonkították. 1991-ig a Sátoraljaújhelyi Városi Kórház gerontológiai részlegét is magában foglalta, ekkor bezárt, majd 1993-ban a Műemlékek Állami Gondnokságához került. 1995-ben kezdődött az épület helyreállításához szükséges tudományos kutatómunka (művészettörténeti-, és régészeti feltárások, statikai-, faanyagvédelmi vizsgálatok), melynek eredményeként elkészültek az építészeti engedélyezési és kiviteli tervek. 1996-ban kezdődtek a déli (részben múzeumi) szárny földszinti helyiségeinek helyreállítási munkálatai. 1997-ben folytatódott a déli szárny nyugati tetőszakaszának feltárása és műhelymunkái. 1998. évben befejeződtek a teraszok szerkezeti munkái. 1999-ben megkezdődött a déli szárny középső és keleti szakaszának tető-helyreállítási és homlokzat-felújítása a kilátótoronnyal együtt. 2000- 2002 évben a Hubertus terem felújítására került sor, közben a mellette lévő lépcsőház és folyosó szerkezeti munkálatai is elkészültek. Az Árpád-kortól a XVII. századig többször cserélt gazdát. 1270-1272-ben királyi birtok, majd 1280-ban IV. László király a Baksa nembéli Simon fiának, Tamásnak adja. 1321-ben visszakerül a királyhoz, majd 1389-ben Zsigmond király Perényi Miklós, János és Imre részére adományozza. 1567-ben a Perényi család kihal, a vár a kincstárra száll, majd 1568-ban beiktatják Báthory Miklóst és Györgyöt. Báthory István 1603-ban Báthory Erzsébetre, a törökverő gróf Nádasdy Ferenc hitvesére hagyományozza Füzért és vele Radványt. 1614-ben Nádasdy Pál a birtokos, de 1620-ban már a Báthoryak familiárisa, Réthey Péter a birtokos. 1626-ban Réthey Péter özvegye leányának, Réthey Zsófiának és férjének, Mosdóssy Imrének hagyományozza férje zálogbirtokát az ott kastély módjára épült kúriával együtt és kötelezi lányát, hogy a radványi templom építését fejezze be. Ez az első írott adat a kastélyról és a templomról. Réthey Zsófia 1660-ban visszaadja Füzért Nádasdy Ferencnek, de Radványt, az ott álló kúriával együtt megtartja. 1670-ben a Wesselényi-féle összeesküvésben való részvétele miatt a kincstár lefoglalta Nádasdy Ferenc összes javait, beleértve az akkor zálogban lévő Füzért és tartozékait is. 1674-ben I. Lipót Hartyáni Andrásnak, a szepesi kamara tisztségviselőjének adományozza Radványt, melyet 1686-ban Károlyi László kap meg királyi adományként. A királyi adományozással megkezdődött a füzérradványi kastély Károlyiak által történő birtoklásának több mint két és fél évszázados története. Nemzetségük a középkorban szerzett nagy birtokokat az ország keleti felén, Szatmár megyében. A XVI-XVII. században már szerepet játszottak az ország történetében és kedvező házasságkötések révén az ország legelső családjával kerültek rokonságba. A bárói rangot 1609-ben Károlyi Mihály nyerte el. Károlyi Sándor, a Rákóczi szabadságharcot lezáró szatmári béke (1711) egyik megalkotója, 1712-ben hatalmas adományokban részesült, ekkor kapta meg a grófi rangot is. 1717-ben a füzérradványi birtokot és kastélyt Károlyi Sándor kivette a család kezeléséből és 30 évre zálogba adta Dessewffy Imre tábornoknak. Károlyi Ferenc 1754-ben váltotta vissza Radványt és kastélyát. Nemsokára azonban újabb zálogosok és bérlők laktak benne. 1822-től a három Károlyi-fivér, István, Lajos és György együtt kezelték az uradalmat. 1827-ben a nagy osztozkodást követően a füzérradványi uradalom Károlyi István birtokába került. Állandó lakhelyéül azonban ő sem a távoli Abaúj falut választotta, hanem Fóton építkezett. A radványi kastély egészen a XIX. század közepéig csak uradalmi központként működött, főként gazdasági célokat szolgált. Károlyi Istvánnak két fia született és a birtok tovább osztódott, és ekkor már a füzérradványi uradalomnak is kiemelt szerep jutott. Fia, Károlyi Ede örökölte az addig országos viszonylatban jelentéktelen épületet és parkját. Amikor 1851-ben feleségül vette gróf Kornis Clarisse-t, nagyszabású építkezésekbe kezdett, mivel új otthonukat Radványra tervezte. 1879-ben meghalt Károlyi Ede, a birtokot fia, László örökölte, akinek utóbb jelentős szerep jutott az épület történetében. A politikai élettől elfordulva a gazdasági ügyeknek szentelte magát. Füzérradványi birtokán is intenzív erdőgazdálkodást honosított meg. Feleségével, Apponyi Franciskával új színt hozott az addig csendes vidéki kastély életébe, jelentős belsőépítészeti fejlesztésekbe kezdtek. Élete vége felé a betegeskedő Károlyi László visszahúzódott fóti birtokára, így a kastély lakatlanul állt. Az 1930-as években Károlyi László fia, István és felesége, Windischgrätz Mária Magdolna felismerték a kastélyban rejlő idegenforgalmi lehetőséget, a radványi kastélyt Schmitterer Jenő műépítésszel luxusszállóvá alakíttatták át. A kastélyt 1945-ben államosították, de Károlyi István visszavásárolta a család vidéki otthonát, melyet csak 1948-ig birtokolhatott, amikor ismét állami tulajdonba vették. The city was founded by sheikh Sayel Bin Alawi Al Rabaa in 1743, after he left his home in Najran (present day Saudi Arabia) to avoid problems between his family, the Hepatullah royal family of Najran, and his wife's family, the Hameduldeen royal family, in north Yemen. He started his own sheikhdom of Al Alawi in Al Qasha in order to create a safe place for his family and people. The Alawi sheikhdom remained until 1967.
