The Bohemia Transport Heritage Museum is located in the North of the Czech Republic near Litomerice.

It boasts one of the largest collections of British built buses and coaches outside the United Kingdom and all are in operational condition.

There are also other vehicles including one of the last Bedford lorries ever built, and various cars including a Vauxhall Astra donated by the Cheshire Constabulary in 2007.

And also a selection of Czech built vehicles including an Aero 150 hotel bus, the only one in existance.

Introduction

Clear Sky Clocks are web graphics which deliver weather forecasts designed specifically for astronomers. They forecast the cloud cover, transparency and astronomical seeing, parameters which are not forecast by civil or aviation forecasts[1]. They forecast hourly data, but are limited to forecasting at most 48 hours into the future. Each individual clear sky clock provides data for only a 9 mile radius, and so are essentially point forecasts. There are clear sky clock forecasts for over 3000+ locations, though the coverage area is limited to Canada, the USA and parts of Mexico and the Carribean. Locations are typically cities, professional and public observatories, colleges and science centers. However there are also clear sky clocks for star parties and backyard observatories.

History

In 2000, Allan Rahill, a meteorologist at the Canadian Meterological Centre(CMC), created a forecast processing step that took data from CMC's Global Element Multiscale forecast model and created a new forecast of cloud cover[2] . Rahill specially designed his cloud forecast to consider the formation of cirrus clouds. The cirrus cloud modeling distinguishes Rahill's model from other cloud forecast models, as sufficient cirrus clouds to make a night unusable for astronomers is still called "clear" by civil weather forecasts.

In later years, Rahill added a forecast of astronomical transparency, which is a measure of how much starlight traverses the earth's atmosphere when otherwise free of clouds. Rahill also added a forecast of astronomical seeing which uses forecast data of turbulence and temperature gradients in the atomsphere to forecast it's optical steadiness.

In 2001, Attilla Danko, computer programmer and amateur astronomer, began to summarize Rahill's hundreds of forecast maps by displaying only one pixel, from each map, layed out in rows[3]. The resulting meteogram, called a clear sky clock, showed all of Rahill's forecast data, but for only one location. Danko writes "It shows at a glance when, in the next 48 hours, we might expect clear and dark skies for one specific observing site". Danko accepts requests from observatories and private individuals to create new clear sky clocks for locations not currently covered[4]. However, since CMC GEM model only covers North America, clear sky clocks are limited to North America.

Recognition

Rahill and Danko have received awards from meteorological and astronomical organizations:

  • In 2004, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) granted a citation to Rahill and Danko for a "vivid example of meteorolgy in support of astronomy". [5]
  • In 2005, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada awarded Danko the Ken Chilton Prize in recognition of the "Clear Sky Clock" [6]
  • In 2003, the Astronomical League, awarded Danko the Omega Centauri Award for making observing more efficeient though the clear sky clock. [7]

Since the clear sky clock terms of use permit non-commercial web sites to display clear sky clocks, the are most commonly recognized by private and club astronomy websites in North America.

The Chipmunk SDK is an open-source 2D physics engine. This library is suited for programming languages C, C++ and Ruby. Third party people has adapted it for Python [4]. This physics engine is used by the 2D game libraries Aerosol [5] and Gosu [6].

Si Efren Abueg ay isang premyadong nobelista at kwentista sa Filipino. Natanggap niya ang kanyang M.A. sa Wika at Panitikan sa Filipino mula sa De La Salle University o Pamantasan ng De La Salle. Unang antolohiya ng kanyang mga katha ang BUGSO, ngunit marami na ring librong pinamatnugutan si Efren Abueg, tulad ng mga Mga Piling Akda ng KADIPAN (1964), Mga Agos ng Disiyerto (edisyong 1965, 1974 at 1993), MANUNULAT: Mga Piling Akdang Pilipino (1970) at Parnasong Tagalog ni Abadillla (1973). Liban sa BUGSO ang mga sumusunod ay ang mga aklat ng kuwento at sanaysay na kanyang inilathala: Tradisyon (Kasaysayan ng Panitikan ng Pilipinas: Mula Alamat hanggang Edsa), at Ang Mangingisda: Mga Kuwento kay Jesus. Ilan sa mga nobela niya ay: Dilim sa Umaga, Habagat sa Lupa, at Dugo sa Kayumangging Lupa.

Kinilala ang kanyang kakayahan sa pagsulat ng maiikling kuwento sa pagkakaloob sa kanya ng mga gantimpala. Ilan sa mga ito ay ang anim na Taunang Gawad Carlos Palanca (Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards, 1959, 1960, 1963, 1964, 1967, 1974), pangatlong gantimpala mula sa timpalak ng Malayang Pagpapahayag ng Pilipinas (Philippines Free Press Award, 1969), unang gantimpala sa timpalak ng KADIPAN (Kapisanang Aklat, Diwa at Panitik) (1957), at Mangangatha sa Tagalog ng Unyon ng Manunulat ng Pilipinas (UMPIL).

Sa nobela naman, apat na Gantimpalang Liwayway (Liwayway Literature Prizes 1964, 1965, 1967) at sa sanaysay, unang gantimpala sa timpalak ng KADIPAN noong 1958. Tumanggap din siya ng Pang-alaalang Gawad Balagtas (Balagtas Memorial Award, 1969), Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas, at Gawad Quezon sa Panitikan. Ang kanyang mga obra maestra at mga malikhaing mga sanaysay ay nagbibigay kulay sa mga pahina ng Liwayway, Bulaklak, Tagumpay, Mod, at Homelife.

Kasama sa maraming teksbuk sa Filipino ang kanyang mga nagkagantimpalang akda, aktibo siya sa pagtuturo ng wika at panitikan sa MLQ University (1965-1972), Philippine College of Commerce (1971-1972), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (1974-77), Ateneo de Manila University (1977-78) at sa kasalukuyan propesor siya sa De La Salle University. Siya ay naging patnugot ng Opisina ng Palimbagan ng mga Mag-aaral (Student Publications Office) ng nasabing pamantasan mula 1984 hanggang 1987. Naging Pangulo ng mga Propesor sa Pilipino (KAPPIL, 1986-88), at Linangan ng Literatura ng Pilipinas (Literary League of the Philippines) at direktor ng Philippine Folklore Society. Nahirang siyang National Fellow for Fiction para sa 1998-1999 ng LIKHAAN: U.P. Creative Writing Center. Madalas rin siyang anyayahan na maging hurado sa mga patimpalak gaya ng USTESTIKA 2005 ng UST.

Alan Clarke - Disc Jockey Born in Exmouth Devon Started working as a Disc Jockey at the age of 16, doing highly successful Under18s Discos. At the age of 18 he started a series of successful over 18 nights at Samanthas Exmouth. He became resident Dj There in 1980 and has continued in that role to the present day. In the mid 1980’s he is accredited with starting the Dance Craze known as “ The Wall Dance” He also Provided the Entertainment at many University Fresher/Summer Balls working with a host of live Bands and a wide range of top National and International Radio and Dance Djs.

Dubbed as the new Lionel Messi, Gerardo Bruna joined Liverpool F.C. in 2007 after playing for the Real Madrid youth team for three years. Liverpool scout Paco de Gracia managed to convince Bruna to join Liverpool on a four year deal. Bruna is a 16 year old attacking midfielder and currently plays for Liverpool F.C. Reserves.

Melanie Kohn was a child actress who voiced Lucy Van Pelt, from "It's a Mystery, Charlie Brown" (1974) to "You're A Good Sport, Charlie Brown" (1975), and "Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown" (1977). Her older sister, Robin Kohn voiced Lucy from "Snoopy Come Home" (1972) to "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" (1973).
