For David Zigman (Jason Priestley) and his three best friends gambling is a way of life, where money won is twice as sweet as money earned. Now they're about to make the biggest bet of their gambling careers and there's a lot more to lose than money. When the stakes are high, love, loyalty and blood can be sacrificed in the final game of winner take all.

Terminology[edit]Named after the French mathematician Rene Descartes. This is the third in the chronological list of the sections of the first year level in Manila Science High School. Current Status[edit]The class is currently under the supervision of Mrs. Edna Lee, their teacher in Technology and Livelihood Education. They are one of the sections who have reached completion of members for four quarters straight. Homeroom Officers[edit]President:Princess Camille Patron Vice President: Jueliand Peter Perez Secretary:Myrriam Adelle Co Treasurer: Ena Marie Tovillo Auditor: Kathlyn Ravanilla Public Information Officers: Filipino: Alexander Padilla English: Ralph Aaron Aguinaldo Business Manager: Jeneson Gualvez Peace Officers: Boys: Remigio Callanta Girls: Pamela Justin Lite Muse: Hermelissa Coroza Escort: Joey Angeles Adviser: Mrs. Edna Lee Boys[edit]Jesper Abolencia The smallest boy, yet ironically the oldest, in the class. His round face and chubby features has earned him the title "Jollibee". He is also known as a quick and clumsy kid due to his interpretations on the characters of the anime, Naruto. Although he's the oldest, he is still humble and cheerful to everyone Eduardo Acosta, Jr. Known for having the looks of a natural Filipino student on the streets, his attitude and angst had a good and cool impression from the class. He is usually compared to Edu Manzano and Dennis Trillo. Even if he's a little foolish, he is still responsible and conscious on most of his acts. Ralph Aaron Aguinaldo He is the president in Filipino class, though he excels more in English and Science, and known for having a close relationship with his mother. For no known reasons, he is usually seen looking up at a distance high above when alone or sitting alone in a dark corridor. He can be cranky at times(especially the silly Papaya Dance) but more admirable when serious. Mark Angelo Aldon The baby of the class, he is actually too young to be a first year high school student at the age of seven. His cute and chubby face made him look soft, though he is hotheaded at times. He is given utmost care considering that he has a heart illness. Joey Angeles He contributed a lot to the popularity of the class. As the class clown, he is very foolish, confident and noisy. His family tree is the largest in the class. Often a troublemaker, his acts can be despised at times. His presence can be so distracting but he can still add color to a dull day. One the most Italian modern artist. Student in Felice Casorati's private atelier, graduated from the Rome Fine Arts Academy. After the Second World War transferred to Paris. There, during the inspiring post-war years he mixed with artists such as Severini, Giacometti, Laurens, Picasso, Pignon and Manessier. Accatino's work from 1940 to 1957 is characterized by a figurative tendency, inspired by social themes, one which distinguished him from the ideological - political realism reigning in Italy in that period. A strong human sentiment, directed towards redemption from pain and misery, is expressed by an essential constructionist symbolism (Fisherman, Tuna fishing, Mothers cycles). After a decade in Paris, he won a scholarship from the Belgian American Education Foundation which took him to Belgium, Holland, U.K. in 1956. The first of his aniconic paintings, strongly geometrical works sustained by controlled colour vibrations (grays, whites, blacks, rusty browns and blues) were created in the second half of the fifties. In this period he began to investigate circularity, the theme which was to imprint all of his later graphic, painted and 3-dimensional works as circles, disks, ellipses, collages (Carrte costruite). "The Eclipse" (1959) offers a unique point of view on what may be defined as the "praise of shadow", while "The Great Ring" (bronze, 1970) conducts us into the passionate "research of light" of Accatino poetry. A dedicated art student and theorist, Accatino has often deeply researched fundamental aesthetic categories, such as colour, abstraction and 3-dimensionalism. A strenuous supporter of a new Italian culture tied to textiles (Fiber art, from 1966 he was intensely dedicated to the re-launching of tapestry as language in Italy and in Europe, creating bi- and tri-dimensional solutions such his double faced diaphragm tapestries, plastic elements suspended in space. During his long and intense artistic career he attained important national and international recognition, and many of his works are conserved in museums and private collections in Italy and abroad (Galleria Nazionale Arte Moderna GNAM, Vatican Museum, Simon Wiesenthal Foundation). From 1960 to 1964 he was responsible for the planning of a new method of teaching art, through hundreds of television transmissions (RAI - Radio Televisione Italiana). In 1980 was awarded a gold medal by the President of the Italian Republic for "Benemerito della Scuola, della Cultura e dell'Arte". Is “Grande Ufficiale” of Italian Republic and the winner of the first “Marzotto award”.

Koan was actually an architecture named the SSEYO Koan Interactive Audio Platform (SKIAP). This consisted of the core Koan generative music engine (the SSEYO Koan Generative Music Engine (SKME), a set of authoring tools (SSEYO Koan Pro and SSEYO Koan X), a set of standalone Koan Music player (SSEYO Koan Plus, SSEYO Koan File Player and SSEYO Koan Album Player) and a plug-in for internet browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape. The Koan generative music engine was very deep; this is partially because of the long history of the product; development of the Koan engine started in 1990, when SSEYO was founded. By 1992 the first version went into beta testing. The first Koan software ("SSEYO Koan Plus", a Koan file player and associated recordings on CD) was publically released in 1994, and distributed by Koch Media. The first Koan Pro authoring tool was released in 1995. In 1995 SSEYO managed to bring Koan to the attention of Brian Eno; and it turned out that Eno was interested in using Koan. Brian Eno started creating Koan pieces with Koan Pro which, in April 1996, lead to the publication of his seminal title "Generative Music 1 with SSEYO Koan software". This was a boxed product containing a floppy disk, on which was the SSEYO Koan Plus player and a set of 12 Koan generative music pieces authored by Eno. Eno's early relationship with Koan was captured in his 1996 diary "Year with Swollen Appendices". The Koan Pro software was available for Windows (16-bit and 32-bit) and Macintosh 8/9, but never integrated well with desktop audio workstations (DAWs/sequencers), as there was never an audio plug-in version of Koan. Although the SKIAP was developed until 2001, the last extension of the SKME itself was in 1998, as SSEYO concentrated on developing technology around the music engine, including real-time music synthesis and a highly programmable internet browser plug-in wrapper. The SSEYO Koan Plugin for web browers was programmable in real-time through JavaScript, and was used to create several interesting interactive applications for web browsers. By 2001, Koan included a modular synthesizer; the Koan engine also by then featured a file format referred to by SSEYO as "Vector Audio", which allowed very complicated generative pieces, complete with full synthesizer sound descriptions, to be delivered in only a few thousand bytes of plain text within a webpage. This development led to SSEYO being awarded the 2001 BAFTA Interactive Award for Technical Innovation. SSEYO eventually got acquired by Tao Group Limited, who folded in 2007. As a result, Koan and the Koan Pro authoring tool are no longer available. Koan continued to be popular with artists, and was featured at the Ars Electronica event in 2003, in a 96-hour event playing live Koan music from various artists over a 160,000 watt PA in Linz's Klangpark on the banks of the Danube. This was known as the "Dark Symphony" project. In 2007, the original creators of Koan (Pete Cole and Tim Cole) founded a company called intermorphic (http://www.intermorphic.com), to create a new generative system called noatikl. noatikl can import data from the old Koan system; and offers a variety of audio plug-in implementations for easy integration with desktop audio tool chains in a very modern context. Life[edit]Beckwith was graduated from Trinity College, Hartford in 1852 and two years later was ordained as a deacon and later priest in the Episcopal Church. Before the Civil War, he served in North Carolina and Maryland. During the war, he served as a chaplain in the Confederacy on General Hardee's staff. Following the Civil War, Beckwith served churches in Demopolis, Alabama and Deer Creek, Mississippi. Late in 1865 accepted a call to serve Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in New Orleans as its rector. He served that church for three years before being elected as the second Bishop of the Diocese of Georgia. He was consecrated as Bishop on April 2, 1868 in St. John's Church, Savannah. Beckwith served as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia for 23 years during the difficult period of reconstruction. There were 31 churches in the diocese at the time of his consecration. At his death, there were 53 churches and five missions. In 1887-1888, Bishop Beckwith spent five months abroad preaching in Anglican Churches in Italy, France, England, Egypt and Palestine. His final annual report came at the sixty eighth convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia held in Milledgeville in May 1890. In his address at that convention he told the delegates, "I have not for years looked forward to the future with as much hope as now....All over the Diocese, among clergy and laity, there seems to be an increase in aggressive work on churchly lines."[1] He died November 23, 1890. His feuds with Yasu Fuji & Chati Yokochi and Black Angus Campbell and manager Percival A. Friend were the cause of frequent riots and arrests in the St. Joseph-Kansas City area during the summer of 1972. He also had a successful stint in Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling, holding the promotions Stampede Wrestling North American Heavyweight Championship for much of early 1974. Early career[edit]Born in Jonesboro, Georgia, he made his professional wrestling debut in 1956 at age 30. Loosing to them in a rematch in Atlanta on May 27, he also faced Jack Vansky in a rematch on June 4 as well as defeated Pancho Rosario and Wildman Wehba during the next week. Facing Bob Armstrong, Ken Yates and Pancho Rosario later that month, he also teamed with Chief Crazy Horse to defeat Ken Yates & Evil Eye Valentine at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta on July 8. Although loosing to Tito Carreon on July 15, he would later defeat Jimmy Valentine in Macon on July 26 and, with Chief Crazy, faced the Infernos in Albany, Georgia two days later. He would also briefly feud with The Golden Terror before leaving the area in early August. [2] NWA Central States and the Gulf Coast[edit]The following year, he would defeat Jack Dalton for the Louisiana Heavyweight Championship in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on February 3 and, with Bobby Fields, defeated Jack & Frank Dalton for the NWA United States Tag Team Championship on February 21, 1967. Loosing the Louisiana Heavyweight title to Ken Lucas on March 31 and the tag team titles back to the Daltons on April 11, he and Luke Brown would defeat Dick Murdoch & K.O. Kox in Kansas City, Missouri three months later to win the NWA North American Tag Team Championship on June 31. The two would defend the titles for a little more then a month before Brown walked out on Danny Little Bear during a match on September 4. He later regained the tag team titles teaming with Stan Pulaski to defeat Tarzan Tyler & The Viking in a tournament final for the tag team titles on September 18. Although loosing the titles to Luke Brown & The Ox the following month, Danny Little Bear teamed with The Viking to recapture the tag team titles from his former tag team partner in St. Joseph, Missouri on November 7. Holding the titles for less then two weeks, they would loose the titles to K.O. & Killer Kox on November 20, 1967. Two years later, Danny Little Bear would win the NWA Central States Heavyweight championship in a tournament in St. Joseph on November 28, 1969. He would hold the title for over four months before loosing the title to Roger Kirby on April 3, 1970. While in Maple Leaf Wrestling, he and Reg Parks lost to the Hollywood Blonds (Dale Roberts & Jerry Brown) at the Varsity Arena in Toronto, Ontario on September 5, 1971. [3] The following year, he teamed with Omar Atlas to defeat Yasu Fuji & Chati Yokochi for the NWA North American Tag Team titles on January 27, 1972 before loosing the titles back to Yasu Fuji & Chati Yokochi on February 10. Defeating Harley Race for the NWA Central States Heavyweight title in St. Joseph the following night, he made a brief appearance in Stampede Wrestling facing Sailor White on February 15 [4] before returning to Kansas City to defeat Yasu Fuji & Chati Yokochi for the titles on March 9 before loosing the titles back to Fuji & Yokochi in Wichita, Kansas two days later. Later that month, he and Pat O'Connor would fight to a 45 min. time limit draw against Fuji & Yokochi in a 2-of-3 falls match at the Kansas City Memorial Hall in Kansas City on March 23. [5] Feud with Black Angus Campbell[edit]On March 29 at the St. Joseph City Auditorium, he would reunite with The Viking in the semi-main event to challenge Fuji & Yokochi for the tag team titles however the two began fighting with each other as the match started and were counted out. Later that night, he and The Viking would also be included in a 12 1/2-man battle royal which included Bob Orton, Sr., Steve Bolus, Pat O'Connor, Terry Martin, Rufus R. Jones, "Black" Jack Black, Yasu Fuji & Chati Yokochi, Omar Atlas, Black Angus Campbell and Percival Friend. While attempting to throw Percival Friend over the top rope, Danny Little Bear would be eliminated by Earl Black. The winner was to receive a $1,250 purse as well as a title shot against then NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dory Funk, Jr. [6] [7] He and The Stomper would soon begin pursuing the NWA North American Tag Team Champions loosing to them in a Texas Death Match on May 12. As the end of the match, as Danny Little Bear was about to pass out from a nervehold submission hold applied by Yasu Fuji, local and state police had to restrain several fans from entering the ring. [8] They would also fight them to a no-contest in a Texas Tornado match which eventually involved much of the wrestlers backstage to break up the fight. [9] Despite these setbacks, he and The Stomper were able to win the titles later that month. During this time, he began feuding with Black Angus Campbell over the NWA Central States Heavyweight Championship and soon lost the title to Campbell in Kansas City. Following the match, Campbell and his manager Percival A. Friend had to leave the arena under a police escort as fights started breaking out in the crowd. [10] A later rematch against Campbell in St. Joseph, Missouri resulted in a small riot occurred when two fans attacked Campbell's manager Percival A. Friend breaking his nose and attempting to enter the ring on behalf of Danny Little Bear. However, police having been assigned to the auditorium, the fans were stopped before they could get two Campbell although promoter Gust Karras chose not to pursue charges against them. [11] He and Omar Atlas would also loose the tag team titles to Campbell & Roger Kirby on June 29. On June 13, he and Rufus Jones defeated Angus Campbell, Roger Kirby and manager Percival Friend in a handicap match Des Moines, Iowa. Later that year, he also defeated Harley Race as well as continuing to feud with Campbell & Kirby over the NWA Central States North American Tag Team titles facing them in a 2-of-3 falls match at the NWA Central States 40th Anniversary Show on September 22. Although Danny Little Bear took the first fall pinning Roger Kirby, he was pinned by Campbell while Kirby scored the third pinfall pinning Omar Atlas thanks in part to outside interference by Percival Friend. [12] During the next few weeks, he defeated Harley Race on September 29 [13] and Juan Sebastian on October 19. [14] On November 3, Danny Little Bear teamed with Omar Atlas and Les Thornton in a 6-man tag team match against Billy Howard, Juan Sebastian and The Destroyer in a 2-3 falls match in the semi-final main event at the St. Joseph City Auditorium in St. Joseph, Missouri. The match would last almost an hour with each team gaining one fall before Howard, Sebastian and The Destroyer scored the final pinfall after Omar Atlas was pinned. Near the end of the match, several fans began storming the ring while Danny Little Bear faced The Destroyer. Police were able to prevent fans from entering the ring however and eventually arrested six fans before the crowd calmed down. [15] Later that year, he teamed with rival Black Angus Campbell to defeat Roger Kirby & The Destroyer although they failed to defeat NWA North American Central States Tag Team Champions Harley Race & Roger Kirby on December 5, 1972. [13] During the next year, he would regain the NWA Central States Heavyweight Championship from Roger Kirby on April 27 before loosing the title to "Bulldog" Bob Brown two months later. He would also make a failed bid against recently crowned NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race loosing to him in St. Joseph on May 25, 1973 as well as several rematches in Des Moines the following month. [16] [17] Stampede Wrestling[edit]In early 1974, he began wrestling for Calgary-based Stampede Wrestling defeating The Stomper for the Stampede North American Heavyweight title on April 12. Enjoying a 5-month reign as Stampede North American Heavyweight Champion, he also faced Jack Brisco in a match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in Calgary, Alberta on June 5 [18] before loosing the title to John Quinn on September 13, 1974. Returning to the Kansas City-area, he would score victories over Jesse Ventura, Buddy King and Charlie Pullins before fighting to a no contest with Tank Patton in Sedalia, Missouri on July 22, 1975. Feuding with Patton over the next several weeks, he defeated Patton in a rematch on July 29 and teamed with Bob Geigel, Akio Sato and Ted Oates to defeat Patton, Jesse Ventura, Black Destroyer and Oki Shikina in an 8-man tag team match in Wichita on July 30. Defeating NWA Central States Heavyweight Champion Ed Wiskowski by disqualification on July 31, he also defeated Jesse Ventura in a boxing match on August 5. Teaming with Akio Sato the following month, Danny Little Bear lost in a tag team match to Tank Patton & Mr. Seki on September 11 and, with Bob Geigel, again lost to Patton & Mr. Seki on September 25 and on October 2, 1975. [19] NWA Mid-America and later years[edit]During the late 1970s, he would spend his last years in NWA Mid-America and teamed with Chief Thundercloud to defeat Dennis Condrey & Phil Hickerson for the NWA Mid-America Southern Tag Team Championship in November 1976. Successfully defending the titles against David Shults & Bill Ash, Gorgeous George, Jr. & J.J. Dillon and Dutch Mantel with partners including Plowboy Frazier, Jerry Lawler and Tommy Gilbert, [20] they would loose the titles to Dutch Mantell & David Shults at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee on January 3, 1977. Although defeating Mantel & Shults by disqualification on January 9, they were unable to win the titles back. Feuding with The Bounty Hunters later that year, Danny Little Bear and Chief Thundercloud participated in a 10-man elimination match with The Bounty Hunters, Jerry Barber, Don Bass, The Boston Strangler, Al Costello, George Gulas and Tojo Yamamoto who eventually won the match on March 28. The following month, they would win the NWA Tennessee Tag Team Championship. Teaming with "Pistol" Pez Whatley, he loosing to Mid-West Champion Don Kent & Ed George and, during the same card, lost the NWA Tennessee Tag Team titles to "Crazy" Luke Graham & Ripper Collins on May 2. [21] Retiring from professional wrestling by the end of the year, he returned to Georga and lived with his wife Mary Ann until his death on May 12, 1991. [22] Championships and accomplishments[edit]

Elements that make P.S. 199[edit]Since PS. 199 was founded in___ the school has grown and each year it becomes better known. Some of the elements that make this elementary school stand out from others come from the special programs that they are involved with. The school works on a schedule of doing math each day, there is also tutoring available in school for students who are struggling with certain topics. Three great programs which work with P.S. 199 are: New York Philharmonic School Partnership Program, Literary Leaders, and the National Dance Institute. The New York Philharmonic School Partnership Program works with students in grades 4th and 5th to create a better understanding and love for music. The students who get to be involved in this program are given the chance to attend concerts, play the recorder, and realize that overall, music is important to have in a classroom, a school community, and in life. Literary Leaders was formed for students who enjoy reading books. These students read specific books over a certain period of time and then take time to talk about them during their lunch time. The National Dance Institute is a program that was created which is similar to the New York Philharmonic School Partnership Program. The National Dance Institute (NDI) visits public schools around New York City and teaches students how to create movement with music and put dances together. Each year they work with over 35,000 students. P.S. 199 is one of the many schools that are involved with these special programs. These programs are important for making P.S. 199 and other public schools such strong schools. Afterschool Programs[edit]Many parents whose children have attended and currently attend P.S. 199 take advantage of many after school programs around the neighborhood. Sports and Stuff is one of the many after school programs. It was created in the 1990s by a group of people who saw a great opportunity to start something new where students could stay after school and be active. The program is still running today and many students still stay to take part in sports…and stuff. Literary Book clubs have also been around P.S. 199 for a while now. Students who enjoy reading get involved with this afterschool program and discuss books which are assigned. It’s a great way for students who love to read to constantly have their face in a book.
