Pat Ogden, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and a pioneer in somatic psychotherapy and the treatment of trauma and developmental issues. Trained in a wide variety of somatic approaches, she is a Structural Integrator (Rolf Method), a co-founder of the Hakomi Institute, and past faculty at Naropa University (1985-2005) in both Contemplative Psychology and Somatic Psychology departments. Dr. Ogden uses techniques that focus on mindfulness of the body to help the client to organize their experience of trauma. Dr. Ogden's approach to psychotherapy recognizes procedural memory and procedural learning, which includes functional actions and habitual responses, to which the client has encoded to help organize their experiences. Dr. Ogden's approach helps the client to address feelings in the body, to identify and overcome traumatic "imprints" that dominate their lives, including thoughts, sensations, emotions, and actions that are triggered by events in the present and reactivate old, trauma based states of mind. Through the use of mindfulness the client is able to gain insight into traumatic experiences and in the holding enviornment and through the use of an "experimental attitude" the therapist is able to expand the client's "window of tolerance." The Violet Quill was a meeting of some of the great literary minds of the late twentieth century which occurred between 1980 and 1981. The authors were gay and helped express the liberation of the 1970s and the horrors of AIDS in the 1980s and beyond. They met to discuss their work and to create a community which while seemingly short-lived was nonetheless highly influential in creating the foreground for the emergence of a thriving gay literary culture. The authors who made up The Violet Quill were Felice Picano, Edmund White, Christopher Cox, Robert Ferro, Andrew Holleran, Michael Grumley and George Whitmore. A history of conflict of interest Following a large number of complaints against lawyers, culminating in the year 2000 in approximately one written complaint against every four lawyers by the public, the Clementi Review was commisioned, which subsequently recommended that the Law Society lost the priveledge to handle complaints from the public against its own members. Complaints are now handled by the Legal Complaints Service, which remains a part of the Law Sociey, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority respectively. The Legal Complaints Service (LCS) is, as such, a quasi-independent complaints handling body as it is still part of the Law Society of England and Wales, however it is said to operate independently, although this cannot be verified. There are a number of people independent from the Law Society that are concerned about this situation, and consider that a fully independent government office should be established to protect the interests of the British public. One issue of potential concern is the large number of lawyers within the British government, including the previous Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, aiding the Law Society maintain a powerful voice within British politics and the regulation of the country's legal system. The real issue is that the Law Society is a trade organisation, and its members, and those that run it, in the business for commercial gains, and as such, there has always been a conflict of interest in allowing the Law Society any involvement with the complaints procedure against its own members. Those that run the Law Society are still lobbying their government contacts to maintain as much control over the business (the handling of legal services in the UK) as possible, and they are able to use a wide range of tactics to protect their market and their members that are not in the best interests of the consumer. It is for these reasons that the UK government has a duty to ensure that complaints againsts lawyers and barristers are handled by a fully independent government funded organisation. However, as can be seen below, the Legal Complaints Service is quasi-independent because, and they confirm this on their web site, they are still a part of the Law Sociey, which is the trade organisation for lawyers, and therefore there exists serious doubts as to the true "independence" of this organisation within the Law Society. Simón Andreu Trobat (born in Sa Pobla (Mallorca, Spain) on January 1, 1941) is a Spanish movieactor. His stagename is Simón Andreu but he also was credited under his official name. Andreu studied drama, but did not graduate. His movie-debut was in the Spanish film Siempre es domingo (1961, directed by Fernando Palacios) and he starred in more than 150 movies since. Apart from acting in Spanish movies, he also played parts in French movies like La Mort d'un tueur and Fedra West. His first appearance in an American movie was in Open Season (1974, directed by Peter Collinson and starring Peter Fonda and William Holden). He had an important part in Flesh+Blood (1985, directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Rutger Hauer and Jennifer Jason Leigh) as Miel. In the 2002 movie Die Another Day (directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry) he played the part of Dr. Alvarez. The Hatch

They were one of the bands selected to audition for FOX television's The Next Great American Band[10] (reviewer please note this is a major music competition which is a guideline for submitting bands). The group consists of Sean Douglas (keyboards, lead vocals), Jesse Macht (guitar, vocals), Austin Schumacher (drums), and Gary Atturio (bass, vocals). The Hatch formed in St. Louis while three of the members were attending Washington University. After playing the Midwest circuit for several years, the group moved to Los Angeles before settling in Brooklyn, NY where they currently reside. The Hatch released their debut record, Fit To Burst, in July, 2006. It was released on iTunes. A forthcoming EP is expected by December, 2007. Leslie J Fyans received his undergraduate education at Concordia University , ann Arbor, Michigan. He earned his Masters degree and Doctors degree from the Unof illinois , Urbana Champaign. Dr Fyans has written or edited the books of Achievement Motivation, Generalizability Theory, Handbook of Psychological Issues in Workers Compensation, and Healthy Pastor Healthy Church bokand cdrom for the Lutheran Church. He has published numerous articles in referreed journals of the American Psychological Association and the American Educational Research Association.. He is editor of the Family Counselor in the monthly Lutheran Witness. Since, 1992, Dr Fyans has broadcast on " The Morning Show" of KFUO radio and now KFUO.org of St Louis. In poetry, paradox is a key to express tension and thus become a central device to convey its meaning. As the word “paradox” of its Greek origin literally means “beyond-belief,” an element of paradox in poetry functions to give focus on the meaning of a word or a situation beyond what it first appears to be. This characteristic serves to create a new meaning in place of conventional set of words. It further serves to give value to a poem as a whole. There are examples of paradox shown in situation and in language. The paradox in situation is such as shown in Cleanth Brooks in his article “Language of Paradox” from The Well Wrought Urn]] (1947). He points out an example of Wordsworth’s Composed upon Westminster Bridge, which captures the paradox between a mechanical, cultivated city of London and the way it seems organic and alive before the eyes of the beholder/speaker. The paradox in language is more specific, such as when a poet combines more than two words to create the meaning beyond, if not opposite from the norm. (e.g. Oxymoron, Metaphor) These two types of paradox form the essence of a poetry, in which “form is meaning.” However, William J. Rooney criticizes the ways Brooks connects this poetic paradox to the statement that a poem is making. He argues in an article “The Canonization- The Language of Paradox Reconsidered” (1956) that Brooks fails to read a poem purely for its aesthetic unity, but with a regard to the reader’s emotional response to the poem. He writes that “the function of Canonization is primarily non-instrumental. No matter what its meaning is, its end is obviously that it be read with delight and for delight…The paradox functions, however, primarily for the sake of the total verbal structure of which it is a part and which has its own end in being a poem- a beautiful speech.” Thus Rooney argues against the possibility of paradox as a means to represent the whole of the poem. Brooks, in his lecture The Poetry of Tension (1971) supports I. A. Richard’s view on the centrality of paradox in creating “a richer, deeper, and more tough-minded poetry” as it gives room to a “wider context of experience” (1929). This poetry of paradox is also called the “poetry of inclusion.” Because the two opposites are present and included in a poem, this embodies the centrality of paradox (literary device) in representing the poem. (its value or the meaning.) Brooks also puts up an elaborate picture of the inseparable relationship between a paradoxical element and a value of a poem in Literary Criticism: A Short History (1965). In an article entitled “I.A. Richards: A Poetics of Tension”, he describes paradox of poetry as that which is “a lively reminder of the aspects of reality with which logic cannot cope.” This inability to cope, he states, is the very characteristic of what gives poetry its value. He further writes that “The arguments of most poems are …usually dull affairs; we follow the pathway of the argument really for the sake of the details that border the path. We are tempted to pick a daisy or to investigate an oddly shaped bush. We keep returning to the path and eventually arrive at our elected destination, but we arrive having seen the country-as we would not have had we kept to the straight and narrow path of science. The incidental details give the journey its value.” Brooks also draws examples of paradox giving poetry its value from T.S. Eliot’s The Love Song of J. Established in 1995 as a distributor of police equipment, OMB's Express Police Supply has grown to be a premier supplier of equipment for public safety. Initially named OMB Police Supply, the company started out with an 88 page black and white catalog mailed to 15,000 prospect names and a 2,500 square foot combination warehouse and retail store and one traveling salesman. Their first inside employee was hired in early 1997. There have been major increases in catalog page count, square footage, inventory levels and the number of outside salesman. In 1998, they launched their first website. It was an ecommerce website which was different from the standard static website of the time. Around 2000, they started looking for a new facility. Near Christmas time of that year, they found a 10,000 square foot building. In 2001 a new entity was formed to concentrate solely on catalog marketing with a strategy and catch phrase of, "Low Prices and Quick Delivery™". The concept was simple, provide top-brand products at low prices and ship them very fast. This new venture was named Express Police Supply. Catalog production was ramped up and the new catalog was mailed 12 times a year to 100,00 existing customers and prospect names. They company’s unique geographic position allowed them to deliver products to customers across the country quicker than their competitors. Eventually, the benefit of having a separation of the catalog-only company and the sales company became less beneficial so they merged OMB Police Supply and Express Police Supply into OMB's Express Police Supply. Today the company has about 28 employees, 4 outside salesmen and mails about 1,300,000, 260-page catalogs to prospects and existing customers. They have over 24,000 active items (of which about 10,500 are offered online) and 150,000 customer accounts. After moving four times, they operate out of a 40,000 square foot building that includes their 5,000 square foot retail store. In addition, the nation's transportation channels have gotten quicker and quicker. They can now service any continental state in the US with one to three day delivery times - all at a low UPS Ground pricing. Their website has grown considerably both in the number of items they carry and the functionality of the website. Their customers can see items, their stock status and have tracking ability on every step of the order. They are able to process an order from pick, pack and ship within 90 minutes. Regarded as one of the world's top scientists in the late 1920s, he was later forced to admit that all his findings and experiments were forged. His canal ray experiments seemed to corroborate Einsteins theories on wave-particle duality. He published them together with Einstein, who was happy about Rupp's alleged findings and didn't question their accuracy. In 1935, some fellow physicists at the AEG labs grew suspicious of him when he claimed having accelerated protons at 500 kV, something he couldn't have the technical facilities to achieve. Rupp had to publicly retract five publications from the previous year. He attached a psychiatric diagnosis by Dr. Emil von Gebsattel that said he had written them under the influence of "dreamlike states" caused by psychasthenia. Dr. Franklin Patterson was born in Ellsworth, Iowa and receieved his bachelor's degree from Occidental College, his matters from UCLA and his doctorate from the Claremont Graudate School in Claremont, California. Most notably, Dr. Patterson was the first president of Hampshire College in Amherst, MA from 1966 until 1971. Dr. Patterson largely spearheaded the construction, hiring and fund-raising of the college in preparation for its opening. From 1971 to 1976, Dr. Patterson was chairman of the board of the college. Dr. Patterson was a professor at UMass from 1971 into the 1980s. Additionally, he was secretary to the university board in 1973-74 and interim president of the university in 1977-78. Dr. Hannes van der Boor S.E. is a newly formed company registered in The Netherlands operating from headquarters in Den Haag. The company was recently reported in French newspaper Le Monde as the fastest ever growing company in The Netherlands. In just four weeks since incorporation the company wrote off its formation debts and registered profits as 1853.83%. The Dutch Finance Minister is due to comment on the performance of this company at the first session of the Dutch Parliament in November. The company is notable in its internal structuring - it is the only S.E. to be managed as a limited liability partnership. This was previously not thought possible under European Community law, but an initial ruling by the European Court of First Instance has found it to be permissible under the Tenth Competition Directive. van der Boor, the name partner of the firm, holds Ph.Ds from the Universities of Hamburg and Irkutsk. He is a co-founder of ABD Insurance and Financial Services, one of the largest insurance brokerages in the United States and is the current Chairman.
