The Vulcan 5000 was a paintball marker of manufactured by Vulcan Paintball Products a division of S/R Industries. The marker was available in two versions, stock class and standard pump. Both markers featured a plastic body, pump arm, and barrel assembly. The marker featured very few metal parts. The body of the marker was two pieces, a pistol frame and the barrel/pump assembly. 12g CO2 cartridges were inserted into the pistol frame via a screw mechanism, this made changing CO2 cartridges very tedious and slow.

New in the box a Vulcan 5000 came with the marker with fiber optic sight, one "speed tube", barrel plug. The barrel plug also functioned as an "official hit gauge", and a CO2 plug wrench used for removing the 12g CO2 cartridge from the handle of the marker. The Vulcan 5000 also featured a 3/8" dovetail rail for accessories.

Although it is widely considered unsuitable for tournament play due to its extreme unreliability, lack of velocity control mechanism, inaccuracy, and general poor quality some pump enthusiasts still use the Vulcan 5000 in recreational play. Users claim that the marker's many shortcomings make them better players and more appreciative of the game.

Many considered the marker to be totally awesome and wonder why it is not produced still. Others dwell on its many sucky qualities and wonder why I am writing this article.

Hurricane Andrew Gregg (February 25, 1980 - present) a western sptintcar driver that has been ever progressing. His racing carrier started in motocross at just five years old, but progressed on to circle track racing in his late teens. In both arenas Andrew holds many trophies and accomplishments.

How it all Began

Born in the small town of Placerville California in February of 1980 to the young parents of Jamey and Christy Gregg. In the fall of 1983 Andrew was placed on his first dirt bike, a 1980 RM 50. later in that same year a younger brother, Jacob was born. Andrew began racing soon after. By 1988 his third and final brother was born, Benjamin.

Though the family had little money to spare, Jamey and Christy sacrificed to keep there sons happy. Andrew and both his brothers began to race nationally which soon lead to his father starting a motorcycle seat cover business known as Guts Racing in 1990.

As Guts Racing began to grow the family traveled to more national events which provided more competition. Soon the family put in a practice track on their twenty acres nested in the woods of California. All three boys progressed in the sport qualifying for nation races, acquiring sponsorships, and winning many titles and trophies.

Broken Pieces Lead to Destruction

As the family raced more and the three brothers became faster more bones were broken. Andrew suffered numerous broken bones and surgery's which soon disabled his ability to compete at a competitive level. The injuries in the family lead Andrew to quit racing at the age of 18. Soon after Andrew bought his first race car, a midget lite.

His brother Jacob and Benjamin also quit racing. Jacob continued on to become a Welding Engineer from LeTourneau University. Benjamin started playing baseball and continues today to help teach and coach players while attend the University of Fresno to receive a degree as a Physical Therapist.

The Circle Begins

After Andrew purchase his first car the family quickly began to get it ready for racing. His first year racing was with the BCRA (Bay City Racing Organization) Midget Lites. The devision was a traveling devision which lead to many challenges the first year.

In Andrews first year of racing despite the troubles of figuring out a new sport and all the different tracks he was crowned Rookie of the Year. His accomplishment was a combined effort with his Crew which at the time consisted of his grandfather, dad, brothers, mom, Jeremy Star, and Jonathan Wozniak.

Andrew continued to race with BCRA Midget Lites for two more consecutive years. In his years racing the midget lite he acquired the experience he need to enter the 360 sprint car devision.

At the completion of his third season he sold his race car to his younger brother Jacob who raced it a couple seasons before retiring while in college.

With the Midget Lite gone Andrew purchased his first 360 Sprint car. The car was not the best at the track but Andrew pushed the car and his team to become the Rockie of the Year for Placerville Speedway his first year in the car.

Over the next few years Andrew progressesed in the sport. During his progression he acquired new crews members and crew chiefs, but the biggest addition to the team was his wife Lynde. Andrew married his wife on May 17th 2005. Lynde seems to be the perfect match with her supporting attitude and wiliness to help her husband succeed.

Finally Paying Off

After many years of losing races on the last lap Hurricane Andrew finally seems to have found what works for him. With his new Crew Chief Bill and his dedicated family, his racing carrier as blossomed in the year 2007. This year Hurricane Andrew has won his first ever main event race in California aboard a sprint car.

Hurricane Andrews first win came on 7-7-07 (July 7, 2007) at Marysville Raceway Park. It was round seven for the California Civil War Series which attracts some of the west coasts best 360 race car drivers. Andrew started on the 13th row of the 25 lap feature1. He slowly and patently work his way to the front of the field to pass with just a few laps remaining. His first victory in California (he had previously picked up a win in Oregon) let his crew, family and fans ecstatic.

Since that win Andrew has one two races back to back at Placerville Speedway. He also picked up a third in points for the Silver Dollar 410 Sprint Car devision out of Chico California for 2007.

One More for the Year

Andrew has one last big race of the year to come, The Gold Cup. The race in known for it ability to bring the best of the best and this year Andrew has the upper hand. In years past Andrew has competed in the event but just has never had the confidence or equipment to compete with the other teams.

This year the rest of the field should bring their rain suits because I think a Hurricane may be blowing in!

1978 Corvette Pace Car

In 1978 the corvette was chosen to pace the Indy 500. This choice came just in time for the 25th year of production. To celebrate the occasion, Chevrolet decided to produce just over 300 replica pace cars. However, because of the high demand for these cars Chevrolet decided to produce one replica for every Chevrolet dealer in the United States, 6,502 cars in all.

The replicas were equipped with a fancy two toned color scheme (black on top and silver on bottom with a red line circumventing the car an inch below the intersection of the other two colors) with several sticker emblems on the door and behind the rear fender wells Also the pace cars were equipped with otherwise optional tinted glass t-tops and rear spoiler.

All Corvette engines that year were a 350 cubic inch small block. With the optional performance package (L-82) giving the car 220 horsepower. Standard engines that year had around 200 horsepower.

In 1978, all corvettes came standard with a 4 speed manual transmission, even though over 90% of them were 3 speed automatics.

The VIN numbers were with this format 1Z8748S420001 The 1Z87 was the code for the Pace Car The 4 was the engine (in this case the L-42) The last 4 digits signify the actual number the car had (this one for instance was the first one made) NOTE: this may not be an actual car VIN number it is simply used to show how it is deciphered

In the summer of 2007 a revolution happened, two Canadian best freinds formed a twosome band that would rock the world for years to come.

Band Members

James Roy (drums) and Micheal Cardy (guitar) were born in Toronto, Ontario and have been best friends since birth. Both of them ar sterotypical Canucks. They both play hockey, love their beer and so EH all the time! They are both huge fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Music Style

The guitar riffs and solos are intense and "old school rock". Where as the drum beats are simple and straight to the point. The carefully chosen lyrics always have direct references to the city of Toronto, Canada, hockey, beer and anything else Canadian.

Their three hit singles include A Place Called Canada, Across the Ice and Snow and Canadian Badass

Future

Work in Progress hopes to get a recording contract in the near future. As for the music, it devlops as the band members do.

Sam Serinsky is the frontman of the rock band Lasting Factor, as well as a member of the Favored Nations backed Dave Weiner Band. Sam played on a national tour with the Dave Weiner Band in 2006. Sam has played for the Steinway & Sons company on numerous occasions. Sam was also recognized by the director of Steinway & Sons for lending his music to the 2004 Play For Peace World Tour. Sam has also played on Member-supported WRTI radio. Sam has been mentored and instructed by Edith Finton Rieber, the president of the Scriabin Society of America. In 2005 Sam Serinsky played a piano recital at the world famous Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia for charity.

A least-privilege user account (acronym: LUA) is a user account that is not an administrator. Alternatively, following the principle of least privilege, a LUA account is one that has only the minimum privileges necessary to perform a given task. The term is used particularly with reference to Microsoft Windows computers.

A LUA Bug is a bug in an operating system or software application that prevents a user doing what they ought to be able to do. For example, there is a LUA bug in the date/time applet of Windows XP, in that users who cannot change the system time, are also not allowed to view time either (as opposed to being able to view the time read-only without changing it) ^[1]

John Hunt was born in the year of our Lord 19**. Some of the good people of Ireland refer to him as the most intelligent man of his generation and also quite the ladies man. Well known for his acting abilities. He has appeared in many hit productions on the Dublin stage.

Biography

Luis Esteban Tueros Grimaldo was born in Ica , a small and welcoming city in the southwest of Peru . He began his scientific project, or scientific research, at age 10, when he created a joystick from simple materials of daily use: he used the bottom part of a plastic bottle, a cylindrical stick, and some wires. This joystick had the property of sending information about the location of the stick respect the bottom of the bottle, thus creating circular movement actions. Additionally, this joystick had a button for extra action.

More ahead, when he was 11, he created a small automatic car that used the above mentioned joystick as a remote control. His family was surprised with this invention created by Luis at so early age, and without having any notion about Electronics or Robotics. For that reason, he was registered in an institute that taught electronics, where he studied the basic concepts (which he already knew by own experience) and learned about the application of sensors.

By then, he had already entered the virtual world of computing, and started to program small programs in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, and later, games a little more complex with a software that helped him a lot in his development. It was his dream, then, to have the capacity of studying in some foreign university. Luis wanted to study Engineering of Software or Systems in a university in U.S.A. or England .

Luis scored 136 in the Stanford-Binet IQ test (a test that measures general intelligence), and the psychologist that tested him told Mrs. Grimaldo that her son possessed a high level of giftedness. What’s more, when the psychologist knew about Luis’s researches on programming and technology, he told the boy that his daughter was studying in Lima , and that Microsoft recruited students with a high IQ and sponsored them so they could study programming and computing technologies. Following the psychologist’s advice, Luis went to Lima and presented his projects to Microsoft Peru .

Once in Lima , Luis showed the games and programs he had created, to the people in charge of the academic and professional development in Microsoft. They were greatly surprised because they thought that it was not possible to create a strategy game with a basic programming language. It was them who advised Luis to enter the Imagine Cup 2005 (a contest for professionals), organized by Microsoft.

Microsoft gave Luis some books that would help him update his knowledge and programming language, since the contest demanded the application of a language for .NET technologies. With these books, Luis could better his knowledge on Visual Basic; then, he would learn the C# language, and later, the C++ to implement his knowledge about programming languages.

With this new knowledge, Luis updated Inkawar to the version Visual Basic 2005 of the programming language, but because of a mistake for using a beta version, he lost all his game sources. He was awfully worried, but he decided to continue: this time he made the same game but with the C# language, and also de C++. Finally, he decided to rely mainly on the C# due to its complexity but brevity. He couldn’t finish it but despite everything, he sent it to the contest.

The results were a victory at a local level ( Peru ), and another at a regional level ( America ). At the world-wide level, where the finalists of the different continents participated, he was between the 20 first, being the winners a group of Master-degree students. The contestants participated in groups of four, but Luis, then a 15-year-old secondary student, participated individually because he entered directly through Microsoft.

With these achievements attained, Luis has decided to study Physics, specifically Applied Physics, career he’s been thinking of lately. He wants to study in a University of Physics , but because he doesn’t have economic resources, he knows his dream can only come true if he gets a scholarship.

In November 2005, Luis received from Microsoft the recognition for his personal initiative of development, in a ceremony at the “Los Delfines Hotel” in Lima .

In December of the same year, he entered the Imagine Cup 2006 in the category of Software Design; previously, with Inkawar, he was in Rendering. This time he formed a group with his brother, Sergio Leonardo, who was 14 years old, and his friend Gustavo Dergan, a student at the University San Luis de Ica; they presented the project of a multiple-function wheelchair. This chair, made for quadriplegic people, would be operated by voice, through an electronic device located on an artificial palate for the users, and controlled with their tongue. The software would decipher the information coming from the palate through infra-red waves -Radio waves could be used too- allowing the users of these chairs have a better life condition. Unfortunately, the project didn’t pass to the next stage and couldn’t be completed.

In the last years, Luis’s scientific investigations turned from Computer Science exploration to Physics theories, namely Astrophysics, which drove him to create theories about black holes and mechanisms of high technology when he was just 16 years old. He also conceived a theoretical invention of a generator of infinite static energy from a initial force, after controlled by a system.

Sandy the Seagull is the official mascot of the Brooklyn Cyclones. The Cyclones are a class single A minor league affiliate of the New York Mets professional baseball team. This fun and loveable mascot has been the mascot of the team since 2001.

Sandy the Seagull's story is that he comes from a family of baseball-loving birds. Sandy’s grandfather grew up on the telephone poles of Brooklyn in the 1950’s. He lived in a small nest on Flatbush Avenue next door to Ebbets Field and every weekend, he would fly out to Coney Island to hang out on the beach and ride the Cyclone. On game nights, he would fly over to the ballpark and watch the great Brooklyn Dodgers teams, while snacking on the ballpark leftovers. Grandpa Seagull was sad when the Dodgers left Brooklyn. He eventually moved his family to Queens and became a Mets fan. He found a nice nest at the #7 Train station and would take his flock to Mets games all the time. What did not change were the weekend plans, which always included a visit to Coney Island. When Sandy’s dad was old enough to move out on his own, he found a nest on top of the Parachute Jump tower.

Sandy was born in 2001. One day, while the ballpark was being built, Sandy fell out of the family’s Parachute Jump tower nest. The construction workers nursed him back to health and let him hang around and be their mascot. When the ballpark was ready for baseball, Sandy was the obvious choice to become the Cyclones team mascot. With his inspired leadership, and cheerleading, he helped lead them to their first championship season, and has thrilled over two million fans at KeySpan Park.

Flashing is the process of re-programming a mobile phones's computer memory otherwise known as it's software or operating system. Software is also known as firmware but means the same thing. Flashing should not be confused with Unlocking which means to remove restrictions put on a phone by that phone's wireless carrier in that that device may only be used on the carriers network as a subsidised handset when originally purchased. Flashing is primarily performed by authorised service centres on behalf of the manufactures.

Updating a phones software may also cure software glitches. With manufactures all competing to release the latest technology first, this can result in handsets being released with known software issues. However these are sacrificed for the sake of bringing a new product to market first. The resulting sales often outweighing the cost of performing after-service and upgrades when the bug-ridden handsets are inevitably returned to a service centre. New software updates are continuously revised and released for a mobile phone over its working life for several years after its initial release.

Flashing may be performed on any make or model of cell phone. Unlocking is a form of partial re-flashing. Only changing the part of the software that relates to the operator lock. However this method sometimes leaves annoying operator logo's and software menu's on a handset even though it can now be used with any sim-card or service provider - dependant upon the function of that handset.

A mobile phone Flash is also known as a script (Scripting language) which would normally be a set of hexabinary numbers if you were to view the raw data - Ie computer language also known as Hex

[edit] Procedure Flashing is accomplished by connecting a phone to a computer using a data cable and copying new software from the computer onto the phone by using a dedicated flashing program. Such programs are unique to each manufacturer. For example Nokia uses a program called "Phoenix" whilst Sony-Ericsson uses an advanced online program that uses a remote server called "Emma3"

The flash is comprised usually of several parts. The Signalling part of the software, the Content part and the Language pack.

The signalling part of the software contains all of the instructions to make the "Base Band" part of the phone work. This is all the computer circuitry within the phone akin to a small purpose made computer. The Content part will contain all the ringtones and logo's particular to a service provider. The language pack will contain all of the menus and words for the country and sometimes surrounding regions for the region in which the handset is sold. Of course by flashing this can all be changed. Foreign handsets are known as "greymarket" handsets.

A typical flash pack can consist of a file otherwise known as a script from several megabytes up to 100 Megabytes. Symbian based phones often have a higher size file as compared to handsets based on their own operating system custom made for that handset. For example a Sony Ericsson P910 flash file would be approximately 70 Megabytes and would take about 20 minutes to download into a handset during the flashing procedure.

Other manufactures use other programs. Samsung use a program called "Optiflash", ASUS uses a program called "Download tool" and Motorola uses its own program called "Triage"

There are many aftermarket programs that are available freely on the internet to achieve the same result however they are unreliable, sometimes may contain viruses and will void any manufacturers warrantee as the result of "Tampering" with the handset otherwise known as unauthorised engineering.

Most of the official "flashing programs" use security devices called "dongles" which prevent the software working properly unless they are present. A dongle is a piece of hardware that allows a piece of software to work. Some programs however can be "cracked" to allow the program to work properly without the dongle. An exception to this rule is SonyEricssons advanced Online flashing program "Emma3" widely considered to be the best in the industry.
