FYI

[edit]

I've moved the page you created at Help:Wikipedia Premium to User:Viewer719/Wikipedia Premium. While humor is allowed on Wikipedia, the help namespace is generally reserved for actual help pages, not humor. There is far more freedom for what you can put in your userspace, which is why I have moved the page there instead. Elli (talk | contribs) 05:19, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks for notificating me. The reason the page was at the Help namespace is because another article similar to that one (which I got inspirated from) was also on the Help namespace. Viewer719/Contribs! 09:10, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:BRD. If your edit is reverted, the next stage is not to just reapply it. The next stage is to open a discussion if you don't agree. SpinningSpark 19:46, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SpinningSpark: It's a double redirect, and I have done the same edits to other numbers to not be double redirects. Viewer719/Contribs! 09:03, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, it is not a double redirect, it's just a redirect. Double redirects fail to find their target. This one goes to precisely the right place in the article. As I said in my initial edit summary, it is often beneficial to go through a redirect. This might be because the page may one day become its own article, or because the target page may change its structure. Going through a redirect is less problematic to update.
That you have done other similar edits is not very relevant unless there was a discussion reaching consensus on them. Was there? Perhaps you should consider self-reverting them. SpinningSpark 11:14, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Noticeboard closures

Please stop closing discussions at noticeboards; you do not have suffficient experience.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:35, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing - with =

[edit]

Please do not replace - with = in number articles. "=" has a specific meaning: equivalence. "30029 = primorial prime" is not true. 30029 may be an example of a primorial prime, but it's not equal to that whole set of numbers. Certes (talk) 12:44, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Certes: So shoud I replace all = with -? Or self revert all? Viewer719 Talk!/Contribs! 12:47, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good question. Maybe best to ask at WikiProject Numbers to get another opinion? Certes (talk) 12:48, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

non breaking and thin spaces

[edit]

Hello Viewer719

Please do not replace non breaking space and thin space named character references with plain non-breaking spaces and thin spaces. Doing this makes it extremely difficult for other editors to see them. Per the manual of style (MOS:NBSP): Insert non-breaking and thin spaces as named character reference (  or  ), or as templates that generate these ({{nbsp}}, {{thinsp}}), and never by entering them directly into the edit window from the keyboard.
