Requesting an opinion on AfD regarding a source
[edit]Hello. As someone who has evaluated a source used in the 15.ai article that was recently deemed invalid to establish GNG (AUTOMATON, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 396#Reliability of two Japanese gaming websites (Den Fami Nico Gamer and Automaton Media)), I would appreciate your thoughts on this AfD. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/15.ai_(2nd_nomination) Thank you! Tacotron2 (talk) 06:28, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- You're lucky. I wrote up my thoughts in a doc and will post it soon. UnstableDiffusion (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. My bad for wording it improperly. Tacotron2 (talk) 22:54, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
Blocked as a sockpuppet
[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
Yeah, I don't know why I was blocked. I'm using a pretty common open proxy (I stated on my user page I normally post as an IP), so that might be why I was marked as a sock? Edit: Ok, I see that both 2backslashes and Iliketrains125 were banned for the same reason. There's probably something seriously wrong with the way CheckUsers deals with proxies. I'd like to request an unblock for all three of us.
Decline reason:
I have independently verified the checkuser findings. Your denial and explanation do not outweigh the technical evidence. PhilKnight (talk) 04:00, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- @Izno: Is the proxy situation plausible? It might be worth a review. –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 02:02, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- That is not why the block was issued, no. Izno (talk) 02:03, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- @MJL @Izno There can't be any possible way the block wasn't because of a proxy. The IP that I use to edit with doesn't have a block, but this account that I lurk with does. Because Iliketrains125 is suspected to be me, then 2backslashes is also me as well? UnstableDiffusion (talk) 02:17, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
