Hey there, so I am kinda new to this, and I just saw this, I'll stop my behaviour from now on, but may I know why what I am doing is wrong? I was working with the data in the isotope articles on my own, and noticed this seeming inconsistency. In my head it seemed like an oversight and I decided that it would be beneficial to both me and future users if those were fixed. I skimmed through the links on anchors you send, but am not yet sure as to why my actions were of a disruptive kind. Further explanation would be much appreciated so I can keep it in mind for any future edits I might make
Sincere apologies for my unintended damage if any has been done

As I said in my first comment above in #Duplicate anchors, WP:ANCHORS has more information. Please read it.
When multiple anchors exist, the top most anchor is the one navigated to. There are several sources of anchors: == Sections ==, {{Anchor}}, ..., and |-id=Cobalt-57 as you were adding to isotope tables. This is why this comment exists on all isotope pages at the top of the "List of isotopes" sections:

Since the lists/tables appear at/near the top of the page, adding a list/table anchor nullifies the intended navigation location of the original anchor below it, disrupting all redirects to it, like Cobalt-57Cobalt-57.
In other words: do not blindly add isotope list/table anchors; only add list/table anchors if no other anchor source exist on the page. ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf) 11:12, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
