Followup on page deletion

Hey, Treshorevue! I just wanted to let you know that I have indeed deleted your page. Don't worry, though; I don't believe that you did it maliciously, so I didn't delete it as "vandalism". Instead, I deleted it because it's a subject that doesn't seem notable or even all that important quite yet. You see, although you have good intentions about trying to spread the word about hoaxes, Wikipedia just isn't the place to do it. We have a guideline called notability, which is the minimum standard that a subject needs to meet if it's to have its own Wikipedia article. At the most basic, it means that a subject must have been covered in multiple reliable sources that are independent of each other and the subject itself. I just don't see that kind of coverage for this topic, and the article itself didn't really express any reason to think that it would have coverage, so it shouldn't have an article yet. It kinda sucks, because I know you made it for a good reason, but at the end of the day, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia at heart, and it isn't a place to "right great wrongs", as they say.

Don't be discouraged, though! Nobody will hold this against you. Wikipedia's policies can be pretty complex, and nobody gets them right the first time (I sure didn't). Stick around; it can be a pretty fun place, once you get the hang of it! If you have any questions about Wikipedia in general, or why your page was deleted in particular, I'd be more than happy to answer them at my talk page.
