Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Qrstw talk contribs 15:15, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You are not adding the dead link templates correctly, and your edits are making numerous coding errors that others have to fix. (Take a look at the page before you publish it - many references have red areas. Please don't continue, and if you can, please undo your recent edits. Thanks for bringing these issues to my attention. Moving forward, I’ll test it only on the SushiBot sandbox page to avoid causing issues that others need to fix. I will no longer test it on Wikipedia pages prior to approval. Let me know if you notice anything else wrong with this bot.
Best,

[edit]

This bot (if it is one) is not operating correctly or adding any value. The {dead link} tags it is has been adding to <ref> tags are:

  • malformed (only one curly bracket when there should be two? As here?)
  • misplaced (even if correctly formatted, why would {{dead link}} be added to the middle of a date parameter? As here? Or the middle of title fields and otherwise the middle of {{cite journal}} markup? Or to dead URLs that have already been updated with a (non-dead) "archiveurl" parameter? As here?)
  • duplicating (even if correctly formatted and correctly placed, why would the tag need to be added a half-dozen times for the same ref? As here?)

If this is a "bot", has it ever been tested? And approved? If these issues are not addressed, this "bot" should be blocked. Guliolopez (talk) 16:01, 4 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apology

[edit]

I apologize for the malfunctioning of this bot. I intended to test it on a small category of pages, but it appears as if it did not function as intended. I will test it on the SushiBot sandbox page from now on so as to not cause any more issues that others will have to fix. Thanks for bringing these issues to my attention.
