- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit] Hello, I'm DreamRimmer. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Shakti Raj, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:09, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- But I provided various references, i.e. links of various media outlet, national and local. Please let me know what is the proper way? Regards. Sumbria.vikramaditya (talk) 16:13, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies, that was my mistake. When I reverted your last edit due to its lack of sourcing, it inadvertently reverted all of your previous edits as well. I've since restored your edits. Please feel free to remove this warning message from your talk page. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:17, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I take it as a learning process. Thanks again.

Disambiguation link notification for April 23
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thakur Baldev Singh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jammu and Kashmir. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
