Please don't. We really don't need a single purpose account changing established usage in articles. Your changes will be reverted and it'll just waste everybody's time. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 11:00, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia.

I surmise by your username that you dislike the usage of CE and BCE, which is fine by itself. But if you intend to change every mention of CE and BCE into BC and AD, this might be a problem.

WP:BCE states the following:

"The default calendar eras are Anno Domini (BC and AD) and Common Era (BCE and CE). Either convention may be appropriate for use in Wikipedia articles depending on the article context.

[...]

An article's established era style should not be changed without reasons specific to its content; seek consensus on the talk page first [...] by opening a discussion under a heading using the word era, or another similarly expressive heading, and briefly stating why the style should be changed."

Additionally, MOS:STYLERET states:

"When either of two styles is acceptable it is generally considered inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change."
