Speedy deletion nomination of User:Benmor Family Law Group
[edit source]
A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Benmor Family Law Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Block notice
[edit source]
If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. If you are having trouble, you may want to try using the unblock wizard.
Before requesting a new username, check if it is still available. If the search says "There is no global account for [username]", the username is free to use.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the edit. Deb (talk) 22:30, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- Rename completed. You will need to file an unblock request as directed in the unblock message above, being sure to have addressed all the points raised. Mfield (Oi!) 20:54, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

Requested username:
Request reason:
Use something along these lines: I would like to request an unblock and a username change. I understand that my account was blocked because my previous edits appeared promotional and were viewed as advertising or advocacy related to my business. I now understand Wikipedia’s policies regarding neutral point of view, conflict of interest, and promotional editing, and I recognize that Wikipedia is not a platform for marketing or self-promotion. In compliance with Wikipedia’s paid-contribution disclosure requirements, I disclose that I am affiliated with Benmor Family Law Group and may receive compensation connected to my professional work and reputation. Going forward, I will avoid promotional editing and will not use Wikipedia to advertise, market, or promote myself, my law firm, or any related business interests. If unblocked, I intend to make constructive, policy-compliant contributions. My intended contributions would primarily include neutral, fact-based biographical or informational edits supported by reliable independent sources, as well as general copyediting and other non-promotional contributions where appropriate. I understand that any article connected to myself or my organization must strictly follow Wikipedia’s sourcing and neutrality requirements, and that it is often preferable to suggest changes through talk pages rather than editing directly. I would also like to request a username change to: “Steven Benmor at Benmor Family Law Group”, assuming the username complies with Wikipedia’s username policy. Thank you for your time and consideration.

- It was cleaned up by AI not written/drafted by AI, I understand the reasons why the account was blocked. Therefore, the reasons stated above why I request an unblock are reasons I agree with and intend on following in regards to the account. It is my intention to not promote myself or my businesses rather to state facts not in a promotional way and also maintain neutral ideas. Steven Benmor Family Law (talk) 21:37, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Steven Benmor Family Law: "You want to show that you understand Wikipedia’s conflict-of-interest and paid editing rules, that you won’t use the account for promotion, and that your future edits will be neutral and policy-compliant. You also want to request a username change." Clearly communication from AI. Try it without AI please. — ERcheck (talk) 22:08, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Steven Benmor Family Law - Your statements are vague and equivocating, e.g., "my previous edits appeared promotional ". Your initial user page was clearly an ad for the law firm divorce services. — ERcheck (talk) 22:19, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- I apologize for that and having read Wikipedia's rules, it my intention to adjust the language I use when writing using this page. I intend to express my biography in a way that states facts and not a way to promote myself. I want a situation whereby people have generic and factual information about myself and then are able to go to my business website to see where I promote myself. To be able to do all this, i request kindly that my account be unblocked. Again, I will be very mindful of what I post especially not posting promotional content.
- Thank you for your consideration. Steven Benmor Family Law (talk) 13:15, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

Renamer note: Are you aware of (and comfortable with) the potential implications associated with using a real name? — rsjaffe 🗣️ 21:20, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yes I am aware. Steven Benmor Family Law (talk) 21:30, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Rsjaffe & @Steven Benmor Family Law - Even though the new name fits with the instructions on #Username issue - please choose new username notice above, Wikipedia's username policy says, "Usernames are not allowed on Wikipedia if they...are promotional in nature, or appear intended to advertise, promote, sell, gain support, or increase the attention or user-base audience of any person, company, market, product, channel, website, or other good or service." The new username, given that a Steven Benmor is the founder of the Benmor Family Law firm, the current and proposed new usernames are promotional. Simply "Steven Benmor" would work though. — ERcheck (talk) 00:30, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- Okay then, I understand. I would like to change the username to Steven Benmor then Steven Benmor Family Law (talk) 13:08, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Steven Benmor Family Law - So that your request gets into the rename & unblock request bucket to be reviewed, please submit a new unblock request at the bottom of this page using {{unblock-spamun | Your proposed new username | Your reason here ~~~~}}:
- replacing "Your proposed new username" with the current new request;
- replacing "Your reason here" with your revised appeal (incorporating the feedback/comments/questions you've received), written in your own words (no AI-assistance). Be sure address points #1-#3 as outlined in the block notice; and,
- be sure to leave the ~~~~ signature in the template.
- Be sure you are logged into your "Steven Benmor Family Law" account when you submit the appeal. — ERcheck (talk) 19:18, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

Request reason:- I understand why I was blocked. My initial user page was advertising my law firm and divorce services. At the time, I did not fully understand Wikipedia's rules regarding promotion, conflict of interest, and the purpose of a user page. After reading the relevant policies and the feedback from editors, I understand that Wikipedia is not a place to market myself, my law firm, or my services.
- I am Steven Benmor, the owner of Benmor Family Law Group. In accordance with Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure requirements, I am disclosing that I have a financial and professional interest in subjects related to myself and my law firm. I understand that this creates a conflict of interest and that I must be transparent about that relationship.
- If I am unblocked, I will not use Wikipedia to advertise my firm, promote my services, attract clients, improve search rankings, or enhance my professional reputation. I understand that Wikipedia content must be based on reliable independent sources and written from a neutral point of view.
- My interest is ensuring that any information about me that appears on Wikipedia is accurate, neutral, and supported by reliable independent sources. If information about me is included on Wikipedia, I would like it to be factual and encyclopedic, consisting of basic biographical information such as who I am, my background, my career, and other verifiable facts that are appropriate for an encyclopedia. I am not seeking to create promotional content about my law practice or use Wikipedia as a marketing tool.

gptzero.me indicates certainty this unblock request was written by an AI. zerogpt.com says 92.5% of the text was written by AI. I'm aware that lawyers sometimes sound like AI (and in this case, I'm not meaning that to be in any way offensive). --Yamla (talk) 21:06, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
