[edit] Hello, I'm TonySt. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Vladimir Ashkenazy seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —tonyst (talk) 00:50, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Tony. I didn't see any way to leave a message on your talk page. Which part was less than neutral? The article article made no real reference to Ashkenazy as one of the greater pianists of the latter part of the 20th century. Only a handful of pianists, mostly from the first part of the century, would be considered (by numerous critics from Gramophone, Fanfare, Musicweb etc) to be undoubtedly greater (especially as recording artists) e.g Richter, Rubinstein, Schnabel, Hoffman, Gieseking and others. Rachmaninov probably the greatest of all. Other comparable names to Ashkenazy would include Brendel, Lupu, Periaha, Kempff, Gilels and a handful more.
- The impression of the existing articles was as, just another pianist with a lot of recordings. I have no greater admiration for Ashkenazy then most of those I already mentioned, however the existing article seemed quite inadequate to such an exceptional career. Please do not add or change content, as you did at Rudolf Steiner, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources to see how to add references to an article. Thank you. ~ Junior5a (Talk) Cont 10:57, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- That's a very fair point. I did attempt to add citations, but without success. I'll have to study up on the correct method. Stefencc (talk) 11:36, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
