Speedy deletion nomination of Rayotek Scientific
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rayotek Scientific requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -=# Amos E Wolfe talk #=- 22:08, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. You gave no references at all.
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: Rayotek is primarily known for its ability to engineer new products for customers who have been unable to create solutions... Examples of novel engineered products are... It is also known for its sight window line... Accolades and awards for Rayotek engineering accomplishments in glass include one from NASA... a master of scientific glassblowing.... Rayotek soon gained a reputation for engineering solutions for challenging customer requirements... combining George’s expertise in glass working with Bill’s engineering and research experience... By 1995, customer demand inspired... one of the largest in the U.S. A dedicated building is constructed to house this machine...
- it's all about what the company does, little about the company itself other than locations. To show notability you need hard facts such as the number of employees, turnover or profits.
- there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- the article was created in a single edit without wikilinks or references, and looks as if was copied from a copyrighted source. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
I note that you said you have no conflict of interest when editing this article. The company is clearly notable, as you said when you contested the deletion, but you need to provide independent third-party references so that we can verify the claimed facts. The tone was also not neutral, taking claims made by the company at face value and presenting company opinions like Rayotek soon gained a reputation for engineering solutions as facts.
If you want to try again, I suggest that you start as a draft here, and let me know when you have done so so that I can advise. Put your references in the the text following the fact each supports using <ref>[url description]</ref>. Then {{reflist}} at the end will automatically generate a numbered list. Look at a good company article, like Tesco to get an idea of layout (you don't need that level of detail or the fancy referencing templates though). I hope this helps Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:24, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:SoWhatNow1/sandbox
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on User:SoWhatNow1/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
