Apology
[edit]Hey Skywatcher68, just so you know, I've restored the gallery sections back the way they were. I sincerely apologize for my edits, when I was reading the WP:Gallery policy, I thought I was doing the right thing by removing them for good faith. But now that I have gave it some thought, I've decided to put it back the way it was just to be safe and sorry. Also, yes, I know what I did was wrong, I should have known better. Again, I sincerely apologize for my edits. I hope you can come to forgiveness and forgive me and not continue to report me, I promise I won't delete them again. 5.42.221.141 (talk) 00:22, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- Before my last post at the 3RR noticeboard, I had been looking around other locomotive articles. Judging by those, and the lack of galleries therein, you had it mostly right but neither of us were properly communicating. Simply directing people to WP:whatever or MOS:whatever without specifics is a bad habit of mine; I need to remember that what seems obvious to me might not be to others and to be more specific. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 17:37, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- So, thanks for the exchange of ideas. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 17:40, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello
[edit]Hello! Thank you for reverting that raw LLM content a few minutes ago. I hope it's OK to provide this feedback here: I'm not sure that editor has had quite enough warning prior to the level 3 warning you left. I'm imagining myself in their shoes and seeing a block threat after their third overall edit might be a bit of a shock, especially since they probably don't know our expectations around LLMs until they're (hopefully gently) told otherwise. Again, I hope this feedback is OK to leave here, and if you see my name pop up somewhere and have any feedback on my edits, I encourage you to reach out on my talk page so it may help me improve :) --tony 16:03, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
- @TonySt, you made a good point. I hadn't noticed the Welcome messages were simultaneous so I've downgraded their warning. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 16:26, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
Edit warring
[edit]I have reverted the most recent change (diff link) because I believe it introduces problems that were not resolved in the edit summary (e.g., unsourced material, NPOV issues, unclear consensus). This revert is not intended as an invitation to re-revert; rather, it is a routine application of the bold–revert–discuss cycle (WP:BRD). All further improvements should be proposed on the article’s talk page so that consensus can emerge without edit-warring (WP:EW). Thank you. 2A09:5E41:146:5E20:9D52:A11E:1EE8:A0D6 (talk) 19:12, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
- I want to be completely transparent: if the material is re-inserted again without first achieving consensus on the article’s talk page (per WP:BRD and WP:EW), I will open a thread at WP:ANI and let uninvolved administrators review the situation. I’m happy to discuss the content issues calmly on the talk page—that’s always my first choice—but I won’t engage in slow-motion edit-warring. Thank you for understanding. 2A09:5E41:146:5E20:9D52:A11E:1EE8:A0D6 (talk) 19:17, 18 August 2025 (UTC)

In Reference to FRA page
[edit]Hello, The statement that the school “was founded in 1971 as a segregation academy in response to the court-ordered racial integration of public schools” is not entirely factually accurate and is based a little bit on assumption. In addition, the cited source link (along with others) is broken, which is an issue in itself.
The interview quotes from Bill Bradshaw, while connected to the school, do not accurately describe its history and are unnecessary to include since they represent his personal opinions rather than documented facts.
Similarly, the statement “Inquiries from parents to FRA tripled in 1980 after court rulings expanded desegregation busing in Nashville. At the time, only one of Franklin Road's 745 students was black” is inaccurate, and again, the cited source is broken.
The Gene Andrews guest editorial is also opinion-based and not necessary for a factual history section, especially given that its source link is also broken. The information under the Removal of Confederate symbols section, however, is accurate and appropriate to include.
The David Dark statement likewise reflects only one individual’s perspective and should not be presented as part of the school’s historical record.
On the other hand, my additions regarding the new Upper School building, the campus green, and the AI certification are factually accurate and supported by the sources I cited. I am unclear why these were removed.
I realize this is a lot of feedback, but my goal is to ensure the school’s history is presented accurately and without relying on decades-old opinions or broken sources. Could you also clarify your affiliation with the school? Troubadour95 (talk) 21:04, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Troubadour95, my only interest is keeping Wikipedia uncensored and you appear to be interested in whitewashing the article. That's happened with other schools originally founded as segregation academies. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 21:35, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- I respect your opinion and the work you’ve put into this article. I’m not attempting to whitewash or censor anything, my goal is simply to provide accurate information supported by reliable sources. The source you referenced about the school being founded as a segregation academy doesn’t state that directly. However, it does support the claim that the school was established in response to the court-ordered racial integration of public schools. Troubadour95 (talk) 22:51, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

Question regarding paid disclosure.

Hello!
Thank you for your informative response on my talk page regarding paid-contribution disclosure. I appreciate your guidance on this topic.
I do have two questions for clarification:
- Do my edits have to go through another editor before being published? If so, how would I go about doing that?
- How should I properly disclose my paid status when I’m actively editing a page?
Thank you again for your time and help.
Best regards!
CityOfKingNC (talk) Paid employee for City of King, NC 14:22, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, CityOfKingNC, thanks for reaching out. Yes, your edits do need to be reviewed; you can propose edits at Talk:King, North Carolina under Template:Edit COI (instructions for which are here) and let a disinterested third party decide to include them or not. If not, you will receive feedback on what needs to be changed.
- As mentioned on your talk page, you should also request a name change to identify you as a person rather than the city. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 14:28, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your timely reply!
- I’ve already submitted a username change request. Do you happen to know how long that process typically takes?
- I really appreciate your warning and further guidance. Thank you again for taking the time to help me navigate Wikipedia!
- Best regards,

Jaspal Rana
[edit]In 2017, following the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Rana became a prominent voice against the high tax rates placed on imported sports equipment, particularly for shooting. He argued that the tax, which was as high as 28% on some items, unfairly burdened athletes from middle-class backgrounds and threatened to hinder India's progress in international competitions. His vocal public stance, which gained significant media attention, helped galvanize a wider movement within the Indian sporting community.. Notable figures who assisted and amplified the cause included: Farid Ali: As a senior journalist, national-level pistol shooter, and official with the Delhi State Rifle Association (DSRA), Ali supported Rana's advocacy during the 2017 campaign. At the time, Ali worked for the India Today Group (which includes the Aaj Tak news channel) and used his media platform to highlight the issue. He also utilized social media to raise public awareness of the financial burdens faced by aspiring shooters due to the high tax on imported equipment. His engagement as a journalist and shooting community member helped amplify the movement and legitimize the concerns of fellow athletes. Ali now serves TV9 Bharatvarsh as an Anchor, Script Writer, and Senior Content Producer.. Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo: As a Member of Parliament and Senior Vice President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), Singh Deo formally raised the issue in the Lok Sabha.. Col. R.V.S. Rathore: Then the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Rathore also played a role in lobbying the Finance Ministry, which ultimately led to an IGST exemption on specific imported sporting goods for "outstanding" sportspersons.. The collective advocacy of Rana and others eventually led to the government re-evaluating and reducing tax rates on sports equipment. this is the whole information about the campaign against GST raised by Jaspal Rana, needs to be edited, source links were also added with the edited text Shooting.delhi (talk) 14:43, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- and whatever was before this information written is the fact based on several reports, Jaspal Rana's contribution to shooting sports is wider than that Shooting.delhi (talk) 14:45, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Shooting.delhi: Everything needs to be sourced. So far, you have only provided a source specifically mentioning Rana as advocating against the tax. If you provide reliable sources which specifically cover the rest, it won't be WP:SYNTH any longer. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 14:51, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

- That's not facebook reel, there is a news video in that which was covered by journalist Farid Ali for India's no.1 news network India Today's hindi channel aajtak. HE's is the person who raised this issue along with Jaspal Rana and reported it for aaj tak channel, and promoted campaign against GST on sports goods through his journalist friends. And you can check this very first news report of Hindustan times, where Farid Ali's statement is also published as a national level shooter from delhi, actually he is the first person who raised the issue, and Jaspal Rana supported the cause, but he is a big name so main credit should go to Jaspal Rana - https://www.hindustantimes.com/other-sports/gst-impact-budding-shooters-cueists-feel-the-pinch-due-to-higher-tax/story-lDzLK1OJftxGTMyejHfoyH.html
