ProgramT

[edit]

You mentioned ProgramT putting in bad cites On the Han chauvinism page. This has been an ongoing problem with them. For my most recent attempt to persuade them to be more careful with sources please see Template_talk:Conservatism_in_China#Edit_warring. I've been periodically cleaning up their messes for a long time. See, for example Talk:Radical_pro-Beijing_camp#These_references_are_a_disgrace for just how long this has been going on for. I'm wondering if the time has come to bring this to AN/I as a WP:CIR issue. But I also know I am too close to this because, as I mentioned, I've been periodically cleaning up these messes for a long time now and someone annoying you is not WP:CIR grounds. What are your thoughts? Simonm223 (talk) 15:04, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In a Han chauvinism article, Skerbs edit summary is described as false: Neither links presented use the term "Little Pink" in any capacity, and does not discuss this term. However, both of the sources I suggested mentioned "little pink".[1][2] Editing based on lies is not based on good faith.
I haven't edited most of the articles "ideologically motivated"; there are so many users who identify themselves as liberal or conservative in userbox or username, but that's not to conclude that editing is "ideologically motivated"; Simonm223 has identified himself as a socialist in the past via userbox, which would be a rude comment if I claimed that Simonm223's editing of PRC-related articles had an "ideological motive" of pro-PRC bias [1][2]; this is the same argument Skerbs makes while criticizing me.
Radical pro-Beijing camp is still an article in Chinese Wikipedia. See zh:激進建制派; I translated the article into English a year ago. ProgramT (talk) 07:35, 29 May 2025 (UTC) ProgramT (talk) 07:35, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ProgramT my ongoing concern with you is not that you have political bias. It's that you regularly use sources without seeming to have read them and create messes of WP:SYNTH that other editors have to clean up after you. I have explained this to you many times but the problem keeps happening. Simonm223 (talk) 10:42, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To understand the wave of 'little pink' ultra-nationalism washing across the People's Republic of China, it's instructive to examine 'Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era'.

Jingoism is now rampant on the Internet, with "little pink" armies assailing not only critics of Chinese behaviour abroad, but anyone within China who fails to remain within the acceptable bounds of the Han-centric superstate.
